Psalm 80:1-7

God Implored to Rescue His People from Their Calamities.

For the choir director; set to [a]El Shoshannim; [b]Eduth. A Psalm of Asaph.

80 Oh, give ear, (A)Shepherd of Israel,
You who lead (B)Joseph like a flock;
You who (C)are enthroned above the cherubim, shine forth!
Before (D)Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh, (E)stir up Your power
And come to save us!
O God, (F)restore us
And (G)cause Your face to shine upon us, [c]and we will be saved.

O (H)Lord God of hosts,
(I)How long will You [d]be angry with the prayer of Your people?
You have fed them with the (J)bread of tears,
And You have made them to drink tears in [e]large measure.
You make us [f]an object of contention (K)to our neighbors,
And our enemies laugh among themselves.
O God of hosts, restore us
And cause Your face to shine upon us, [g]and we will be saved.

Isaiah 42:10-18

10 Sing to the Lord a (A)new song,
Sing His praise from the (B)end of the earth!
(C)You who go down to the sea, and (D)all that is in it.
You (E)islands, and those who dwell on them.
11 Let the (F)wilderness and its cities lift up their voices,
The settlements where (G)Kedar inhabits.
Let the inhabitants of (H)Sela sing aloud,
Let them shout for joy from the tops of the (I)mountains.
12 Let them (J)give glory to the Lord
And declare His praise in the (K)coastlands.
13 (L)The Lord will go forth like a warrior,
He will arouse His (M)zeal like a man of war.
He will utter a shout, yes, He will raise a war cry.
He will (N)prevail against His enemies.

The Blindness of the People

14 (O)I have kept silent for a long time,
I have kept still and restrained Myself.
Now like a woman in labor I will groan,
I will both gasp and pant.
15 “I will (P)lay waste the mountains and hills
And wither all their vegetation;
I will (Q)make the rivers into coastlands
And dry up the ponds.
16 “I will (R)lead the blind by a way they do not know,
In paths they do not know I will guide them.
I will (S)make darkness into light before them
And (T)rugged places into plains.
These are the things I will do,
And I will (U)not leave them undone.”
17 They will be turned back and be (V)utterly put to shame,
Who trust in [a]idols,
Who say to molten images,
“You are our gods.”

18 (W)Hear, you deaf!
And look, you blind, that you may see.

Hebrews 10:32-39

32 But remember (A)the former days, [a]when, after being (B)enlightened, you endured a great (C)conflict of sufferings, 33 partly by being (D)made a public spectacle through reproaches and tribulations, and partly by becoming (E)sharers with those who were so treated. 34 For you (F)showed sympathy to the prisoners and accepted (G)joyfully the seizure of your property, knowing that you have for yourselves (H)a better possession and a lasting one. 35 Therefore, do not throw away your (I)confidence, which has a great (J)reward. 36 For you have need of (K)endurance, so that when you have (L)done the will of God, you may (M)receive [b]what was promised.

37 (N)For yet in a very little while,
(O)He who is coming will come, and will not delay.
38 (P)But My righteous one shall live by faith;
And if he shrinks back, My soul has no pleasure in him.

39 But [c]we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the [d]preserving of the soul.
