Lexham English Bible (LEB)
Version
Psalm 144:9-15

O God, I will sing a new song to you.
With a lyre of ten strings I will sing praise to you,
10 who gives victory to kings,
who rescues David his servant
from the evil sword.
11 Rescue me and deliver me
from the hand of foreigners,
whose mouth speaks falsely,
and whose right hand is a false right hand,
12 that our sons may be like plants,
full grown in their youth,
our daughters like corner pillars,
carved in the style of a palace,
13 that our granaries may be full,
providing produce of all kinds,[a]
that our sheep may produce by the thousands,
by the tens of thousands in our open fields,
14 that our cattle may be pregnant;
that there be no breach in our walls,
and no going out in exile,
and no outcry in our plazas.
15 Blessed are the people who have it thus.
Blessed are the people whose God is Yahweh.

Song of Solomon 3:6-11

Royal Wedding Procession

What is this coming up from the desert
    like a column of smoke,
perfumed with myrrh and frankincense
from all the fragrant powders of the merchant?
Look! It is Solomon’s portable couch![a]
    Sixty mighty men surround it,[b]
        the mighty men of Israel.
All of them wield swords;[c]
    they are trained in warfare,[d]
each with his sword at his thigh
to guard against terror[e] in the night.
King Solomon[f] made for himself a sedan chair
    from the wood of Lebanon.
10 He made its column of silver, its back[g] of gold, its seat of purple;
its interior is inlaid with leather[h] by the maidens of Jerusalem.[i]
11 Come out and look, O maidens of Zion,[j] at King Solomon,[k]
at the crown with which his mother crowned him
on the day of his wedding,
on the day of the joy of his heart!

1 Timothy 4:6-16

The Good Servant of Christ

By[a] teaching these things to the brothers, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, trained in the words of the faith and of the good teaching that you have followed faithfully. But reject those worthless myths told by elderly women[b], and train yourself for godliness. For the training of the body is somewhat[c] profitable, but godliness is profitable for everything, because it[d] holds promise for the present life and for the life to come. The statement is trustworthy and deserving of complete acceptance. 10 For to this end we labor and suffer reproach,[e] because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of believers.

11 Command these things and teach them. 12 Let no one look down on your youth, but be an example for the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. 13 Until I come, pay attention to the public reading,[f] to exhortation, to teaching. 14 Do not neglect the gift that is in you, that was granted to you through prophecy with the laying on of hands by the council of elders. 15 Practice these things. Be diligent[g] in these things, in order that your progress may be evident to everyone. 16 Fix your attention on yourself and on your teaching. Continue in them, for by[h] doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.
