(Psalms 107–150)
Psalm 107
Thanksgiving for God’s Deliverance
17 Fools suffered affliction
because of their rebellious ways and their sins.(A)
18 They loathed all food
and came near the gates of death.(B)
19 Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble;
He saved them from their distress.(C)
20 He sent His word and healed them;
He rescued them from the Pit.(D)
21 Let them give thanks to the Lord
for His faithful love
and His wonderful works for all humanity.(E)
22 Let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving
and announce His works with shouts of joy.(F)
5 Then I, Daniel, looked, and two others were standing there, one on this bank of the river and one on the other. 6 One of them said to the man dressed in linen,(A) who was above the waters of the river,(B) “How long until the end(C) of these extraordinary things?” 7 Then I heard the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river. He raised both his hands[a](D) toward heaven and swore by Him who lives eternally(E) that it would be for a time, times, and half a time.(F) When the power of the holy people is shattered, all these things will be completed.
8 I heard but did not understand. So I asked, “My lord, what will be the outcome of these things?”(G)
9 He said, “Go on your way, Daniel, for the words are secret(H) and sealed until the time of the end.(I) 10 Many will be purified,(J) cleansed, and refined,(K) but the wicked will act wickedly;(L) none of the wicked will understand, but the wise will understand.(M) 11 From the time the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination of desolation(N) is set up,(O) there will be 1,290 days. 12 The one who waits(P) for and reaches 1,335 days is blessed. 13 But as for you, go on your way to the end;[b] you will rest, then rise(Q) to your destiny at the end of the days.”
7 We have redemption in Him(A) through His blood, the forgiveness(B) of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace 8 that He lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding. 9 He made known to us the mystery of His will,(C) according to His good pleasure that He planned in Him(D) 10 for the administration[a] of the days of fulfillment[b]—to bring everything together in the Messiah,(E) both things in heaven and things on earth(F) in Him.(G)
11 We have also received an inheritance[c] in Him, predestined(H) according to the purpose of the One who works out everything in agreement with the decision of His will, 12 so that we who had already put our hope(I) in the Messiah might bring praise to His glory.(J)
13 When you heard the message of truth,(K) the gospel of your salvation, and when you believed in Him, you were also sealed with the promised Holy Spirit.(L) 14 He is the down payment(M) of our inheritance, for the redemption of the possession,[d] to the praise of His glory.
