Version
Psalm 22:23-31

23 (A)You who fear the Lord, praise Him;
All you [a]descendants of Jacob, (B)glorify Him,
And (C)stand in awe of Him, all you [b]descendants of Israel.
24 For He has (D)not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted;
Nor has He (E)hidden His face from him;
But (F)when he cried to Him for help, He heard.

25 From You comes (G)my praise in the great assembly;
I shall (H)pay my vows before those who fear Him.
26 The [c]afflicted will eat and (I)be satisfied;
Those who seek Him will (J)praise the Lord.
Let your (K)heart live forever!
27 All the (L)ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord,
And all the (M)families of the nations will worship before [d]You.
28 For the (N)kingdom is the Lord’s
And He (O)rules over the nations.
29 All the [e](P)prosperous of the earth will eat and worship,
All those who (Q)go down to the dust will bow before Him,
Even he who [f](R)cannot keep his soul alive.
30 [g](S)Posterity will serve Him;
It will be told of the Lord to (T)the coming generation.
31 They will come and (U)will declare His righteousness
To a people (V)who will be born, that He has performed it.

Genesis 16:7-15

Now (A)the angel of the Lord found her by a spring of water in the wilderness, by the spring on the way to (B)Shur. He said, “Hagar, Sarai’s maid, (C)where have you come from and where are you going?” And she said, “I am fleeing from the presence of my mistress Sarai.” Then the angel of the Lord said to her, “Return to your mistress, and submit yourself [a]to her authority.” 10 Moreover, the (D)angel of the Lord said to her, “(E)I will greatly multiply your [b]descendants so that [c]they will be too many to count.” 11 The angel of the Lord said to her further,

“Behold, you are with child,
And you will bear a son;
And you shall call his name [d]Ishmael,
Because (F)the Lord [e]has given heed to your affliction.
12 “He will be a (G)wild donkey of a man,
His hand will be against everyone,
And everyone’s hand will be against him;
And he will [f]live [g](H)to the east of all his brothers.”

13 Then she called the name of the Lord who spoke to her, “[h]You are [i]a God who sees”; for she said, “(I)Have I even [j]remained alive here after seeing Him?” 14 Therefore the well was called [k]Beer-lahai-roi; behold, it is between (J)Kadesh and Bered.

15 So Hagar bore Abram a son; and Abram called the name of his son, whom Hagar bore, Ishmael.

Mark 8:27-30

Peter’s Confession of Christ

27 (A)Jesus went out, along with His disciples, to the villages of (B)Caesarea Philippi; and on the way He questioned His disciples, saying to them, “Who do people say that I am?” 28 (C)They told Him, saying, “John the Baptist; and others say Elijah; but others, one of the prophets.” 29 And He continued by questioning them, “But who do you say that I am?” (D)Peter *answered and *said to Him, “You are [a]the Christ.” 30 And (E)He [b]warned them to tell no one about Him.
