The Death of Moses
34 (A)Now Moses went up from the plains of Moab to Mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, which is opposite Jericho. And the Lord (B)showed him all the land, Gilead as far as Dan, 2 and all Naphtali and the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, and all the land of Judah as far as the [a](C)western sea, 3 and the [b]Negev and the plain in the valley of Jericho, (D)the city of palm trees, as far as Zoar. 4 Then the Lord said to him, “This is the land which (E)I swore to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, saying, ‘I will give it to your [c]descendants’; I have let you see it with your eyes, but you shall not go over there.” 5 So Moses (F)the servant of the Lord (G)died there in the land of Moab, according to the [d]word of the Lord. 6 And He buried him in the valley in the land of Moab, (H)opposite Beth-peor; but (I)no man knows his burial place to this day. 7 Although Moses was (J)one hundred and twenty years old when he died, (K)his eye was not dim, nor his vigor abated. 8 So the sons of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days; then the days of weeping and mourning for Moses came to an end.
9 Now Joshua the son of Nun was (L)filled with the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands on him; and the sons of Israel listened to him and did as the Lord had commanded Moses. 10 Since that time (M)no prophet has risen in Israel like Moses, whom (N)the Lord knew face to face, 11 for all the signs and wonders which the Lord sent him to perform in the land of Egypt against Pharaoh, all his servants, and all his land, 12 and for all the mighty [e]power and for all the great terror which Moses performed in the sight of all Israel.

90 Lord, You have been our [b](A)dwelling place in all generations.
2 Before (B)the mountains were born
[c]Or You (C)gave birth to the earth and the world,
Even (D)from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.
3 You (E)turn man back into dust
And say, “Return, O children of men.”
4 For (F)a thousand years in Your sight
Are like (G)yesterday when it passes by,
[d]Or as a (H)watch in the night.
5 You (I)have [e]swept them away like a flood, they [f](J)fall asleep;
In the morning they are like (K)grass which [g]sprouts anew.
6 In the morning it (L)flourishes and [h]sprouts anew;
Toward evening it (M)fades and (N)withers away.
13 Do (A)return, O Lord; (B)how long will it be?
And [a]be (C)sorry for Your servants.
14 O (D)satisfy us in the morning with Your lovingkindness,
That we may (E)sing for joy and be glad all our days.
15 (F)Make us glad [b]according to the days You have afflicted us,
And the (G)years we have seen [c]evil.
16 Let Your (H)work appear to Your servants
And Your (I)majesty [d]to their children.
17 Let the (J)favor of the Lord our God be upon us;
And [e](K)confirm for us the work of our hands;
Yes, [f]confirm the work of our hands.

2 For you yourselves know, brethren, that our [a](A)coming to you (B)was not in vain, 2 but after we had already suffered and been (C)mistreated in (D)Philippi, as you know, we had the boldness in our God (E)to speak to you the (F)gospel of God amid much [b](G)opposition. 3 For our (H)exhortation does not come from (I)error or (J)impurity or [c]by way of (K)deceit; 4 (L)but just as we have been approved by God to be (M)entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, (N)not as pleasing men, but God who [d](O)examines our hearts. 5 For we never came [e]with flattering speech, as you know, nor with (P)a pretext for greed—(Q)God is witness— 6 nor did we (R)seek glory from men, either from you or from others, even though as (S)apostles of Christ [f]we might have [g]asserted our authority. 7 But we [h]proved to be [i](T)gentle [j]among you, (U)as a nursing mother [k]tenderly cares for her own children. 8 Having so fond an affection for you, we were well-pleased to (V)impart to you not only the (W)gospel of God but also our own [l]lives, because you had become [m]very dear to us.
34 (A)But when the Pharisees heard that Jesus had silenced (B)the Sadducees, they gathered themselves together. 35 One of them, [a](C)a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, 36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And He said to him, “‘(D)You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the great and [b]foremost commandment. 39 The second is like it, ‘(E)You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 (F)On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.”
41 (G)Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them a question: 42 “What do you think about [c]the Christ, whose son is He?” They *said to Him, “(H)The son of David.” 43 He *said to them, “Then how does David [d](I)in the Spirit call Him ‘Lord,’ saying,
44 ‘(J)The Lord said to my Lord,
“Sit at My right hand,
Until I put Your enemies beneath Your feet”’?
45 If David then calls Him ‘Lord,’ how is He his son?” 46 (K)No one was able to answer Him a word, nor did anyone dare from that day on to ask Him [e]another question.
