Psalm 78:1-4

Maschil of Asaph.

¶ Give ear, O my people, to my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth.

I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter enigmas of old,

which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us.

We will not hide them from their sons, showing to the generation to come the praises of the LORD and his strength and his wonderful works that he has done.

Psalm 78:12-16

12 He did marvellous things in the sight of their fathers, in the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan.

13 He divided the sea and caused them to pass through, and he made the waters to stand as a heap.

14 In the daytime also he led them with a cloud and all the night with a light of fire.

15 He clave the rocks in the wilderness and gave them drink as out of the great depths.

16 He brought streams also out of the rock and caused waters to run down like rivers.

Numbers 27:12-14

12 ¶ And the LORD said unto Moses, Climb up this Mount Abarim, and thou shalt see the land which I have given unto the sons of Israel.

13 And after thou hast seen it, thou also shalt be gathered unto thy peoples, as Aaron thy brother was gathered.

14 For ye were rebels to my word in the desert of Zin, in the strife of the congregation, to sanctify me in the waters before their eyes. These are the waters of Meribah of Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.

Mark 11:27-33

27 ¶ And they returned to Jerusalem, and as he was walking in the temple, the princes of the priests and the scribes and the elders came

28 and said unto him, By what faculty doest thou these things? and who gave thee this faculty to do these things?

29 Then Jesus, answering, said unto them, I will also ask of you one word, and respond unto me, and I will tell you with what faculty I do these things.

30 The baptism of John, was it of heaven or of men? Respond unto me.

31 Then they thought inside themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven, he will say, Why then did ye not believe him?

32 But if we shall say, Of men, we fear the people, for everyone judged regarding John that he truly was a prophet.

33 And answering, they said unto Jesus, We do not know. And Jesus, answering, said unto them, Neither shall I tell you with what faculty I do these things.
