Psalm 139:1-12

God’s Omnipresence and Omniscience.

For the choir director. A Psalm of David.

139 O Lord, You have (A)searched me and known me.
You (B)know [a]when I sit down and [b]when I rise up;
You (C)understand my thought from afar.
You [c](D)scrutinize my [d]path and my lying down,
And are intimately acquainted with all my ways.
[e]Even before there is a word on my tongue,
Behold, O Lord, You (E)know it all.
You have (F)enclosed me behind and before,
And (G)laid Your hand upon me.
Such (H)knowledge is (I)too wonderful for me;
It is too high, I cannot attain to it.

(J)Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?
(K)If I ascend to heaven, You are there;
If I make my bed in [f]Sheol, behold, (L)You are there.
If I take the wings of the dawn,
If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea,
10 Even there Your hand will (M)lead me,
And Your right hand will lay hold of me.
11 If I say, “Surely the (N)darkness will [g]overwhelm me,
And the light around me will be night,”
12 Even the (O)darkness is not dark [h]to You,
And the night is as bright as the day.
(P)Darkness and light are alike to You.

Psalm 139:23-24

23 (A)Search me, O God, and know my heart;
(B)Try me and know my anxious thoughts;
24 And see if there be any [a](C)hurtful way in me,
And (D)lead me in the (E)everlasting way.

Ezekiel 39:21-29

21 “And I will set My (A)glory among the nations; and all the nations will see My judgment which I have executed and My hand which I have laid on them. 22 And the house of Israel will (B)know that I am the Lord their God from that day onward. 23 The nations will know that the house of Israel went into exile for their (C)iniquity because they acted treacherously against Me, and I (D)hid My face from them; so I gave them into the hand of their adversaries, and all of them fell by the sword. 24 (E)According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions I dealt with them, and I hid My face from them.”’”

Israel Restored

25 Therefore thus says the Lord God, “Now I will [a](F)restore the fortunes of Jacob and have mercy on the whole (G)house of Israel; and I will be (H)jealous for My holy name. 26 They will [b](I)forget their disgrace and all their treachery which they [c]perpetrated against Me, when they (J)live securely on their own land with (K)no one to make them afraid. 27 When I (L)bring them back from the peoples and gather them from the lands of their enemies, then I shall be (M)sanctified [d]through them in the sight of the many nations. 28 Then they will know that I am the Lord their God because I made them go into exile among the nations, and then gathered them again to their own land; and I will leave none of them there any longer. 29 I will not hide My face from them any longer, for I will have (N)poured out My Spirit on the house of Israel,” declares the Lord God.

Hebrews 6:13-20

13 For (A)when God made the promise to Abraham, since He could swear by no one greater, He (B)swore by Himself, 14 saying, “(C)I will surely bless you and I will surely multiply you.” 15 And so, (D)having patiently waited, he obtained the promise. 16 (E)For men swear by [a]one greater than themselves, and with them (F)an oath given as confirmation is an end of every dispute. 17 [b]In the same way God, desiring even more to show to (G)the heirs of the promise (H)the unchangeableness of His purpose, [c]interposed with an oath, 18 so that by two unchangeable things in which (I)it is impossible for God to lie, we who have [d]taken refuge would have strong encouragement to take hold of (J)the hope set before us. 19 [e]This (K)hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which (L)enters [f]within the veil, 20 (M)where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a (N)high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.
