Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
19 Likewise, these are the generations of Isaac, Abraham’s son: Abraham begat Isaac.
20 And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife (the daughter of Bethuel, the Aramite of Padan Aram, sister to Laban, the Aramite).
21 And Isaac prayed to the LORD for his wife, because she was barren. And the LORD was persuaded by him; and Rebekah, his wife, conceived.
22 But the children strove together within her. Therefore, she said, “Seeing this is so, why am I like this?” So, she went to ask the LORD.
23 And the LORD said to her, “Two nations are in your womb; and two peoples shall be divided out of your core. And the one people shall be mightier than the other; and the elder shall serve the younger.”
24 Therefore, when her time of deliverance was fulfilled, behold, twins were in her womb.
25 So he who came out first was red. And he was as rough as a garment all over. And they called his name, Esau.
26 And afterward, his brother came out. And his hand held Esau by the heel. Therefore, his name was called, Jacob. Now Isaac was sixty years old when Rebekah bore them.
27 And the boys grew; and Esau was a cunning hunter and lived in the fields. But Jacob was a plain man and dwelt in tents.
28 And Isaac loved Esau, for venison was his meat, but Rebekah loved Jacob.
29 Now Jacob sod pottage, and Esau came from the field and was weary.
30 Then Esau said to Jacob, “Please let me eat of that porridge so red, for I am weary.” Therefore, his name was called, Edom.
31 And Jacob said, “Sell me your birthright today.”
32 And Esau said, “Lo, I am almost dead. What, then, is this birthright to me?”
33 Then Jacob said, “Swear to me as of today.” And he swore to him and sold his birthright to Jacob.
34 Then Jacob gave Esau bread and porridge of lentils. And he ate and drank, and rose up, and went his way. So, Esau despised his birthright.

105 Your Word is a lantern to my feet, and a light to my paths.
106 I have sworn and will perform it, that I will keep Your righteous Judgments.
107 I am very afflicted, O LORD. Quicken me according to Your Word.
108 O LORD, I beg you, accept the free offering of my mouth and teach me Your Judgments.
109 My life is continually in my hand. Yet, I do not forget Your Law.
110 The wicked have laid a snare for me, but I do not swerve from Your Precepts.
111 I have inherited Your Testimonies forever, for they are the joy of my heart.
112 I have extended my heart to fulfill Your Statutes always, even to the end.
8 Now, then, there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus; who do not walk after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2 For the Law of the Spirit of life, Who is in Christ Jesus, has freed me from the Law of sin and of death.
3 For what the Law could not do (since it was weak because of the flesh) God did; having sent His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh,
4 that the righteousness of the Law might be fulfilled in us; who do not walk after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
5 For those who are after the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh; but those who are after the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
6 For the wisdom of the flesh is death. But the wisdom of the Spirit is life and peace.
7 Because the wisdom of the flesh is hostility toward God. For it is not subject to the Law of God, nor indeed can it be.
8 So, then, those who are in the flesh, cannot please God.
9 Now, you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit. Because the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, the same is not His.
10 And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin. But the Spirit is life, for righteousness’ sake.
11 But if the Spirit of Him Who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He Who raised up Christ from the dead shall also give life to your mortal bodies by His Spirit, Who dwells in you.
13 The same day, Jesus went out of the house, and sat by the seaside.
2 And great multitudes gathered to Him, so that He went into a ship and sat down. And the whole multitude stood on the shore.
3 Then He spoke many things to them in parables, saying, “Behold, a sower went out to sow.
4 “And as he sowed, some fell by the wayside. And the birds came and devoured them.
5 “And some fell upon stony ground, where they did not have much earth. And soon they sprang up, because they had no depth of earth.
6 “But when the Sun came up, they were burnt up; and for lack of rooting, withered away.
7 “And some fell among thorns. And the thorns sprang up and choked them.
8 But some fell in good ground, and brought forth fruit; one corn a hundredfold, some sixtyfold, and another thirtyfold.
9 “The one who has ears to hear, let him hear.”
18 “Therefore, hear the parable of the Sower.
19 “Whenever anyone hears the Word of the Kingdom, and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away that which was sown in his heart. And this is the one who has received the seed by the wayside.
20 “And the one who received seed in the stony ground, is he who hears the Word, and immediately, with joy, receives it,
21 “but he has no root in himself and endures but a season. For as soon as trouble or persecution comes because of the Word, he quickly stumbles.
22 “And the one who receives the seed among thorns, is he who hears the Word, but the care of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the Word. And it is made unfruitful.
23 “But the one who receives the seed in the good ground, is he who hears the Word and understands it, who also bears fruit and brings forth; some a hundredfold, some sixtyfold, and some thirtyfold.”
