Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
Prayer for Mercy, with Meditation on the Excellencies of the Lord
A Prayer of David.
86 Bow down Your ear, O Lord, hear me;
For I am poor and needy.
2 Preserve my [a]life, for I am holy;
You are my God;
Save Your servant who trusts in You!
3 Be merciful to me, O Lord,
For I cry to You all day long.
4 [b]Rejoice the soul of Your servant,
(A)For to You, O Lord, I lift up my soul.
5 For (B)You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive,
And abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You.
6 Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer;
And attend to the voice of my supplications.
7 In the day of my trouble I will call upon You,
For You will answer me.
Passover Regulations(A)
43 And the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “This is (B)the ordinance of the Passover: No foreigner shall eat it. 44 But every man’s servant who is bought for money, when you have (C)circumcised him, then he may eat it. 45 (D)A sojourner and a hired servant shall not eat it. 46 In one house it shall be eaten; you shall not carry any of the flesh outside the house, (E)nor shall you break one of its bones. 47 (F)All the congregation of Israel shall keep it. 48 And (G)when a stranger [a]dwells with you and wants to keep the Passover to the Lord, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as a native of the land. For no uncircumcised person shall eat it. 49 (H)One law shall be for the native-born and for the stranger who dwells among you.”
The Son Made Lower than Angels(A)
5 For He has not put (B)the world to come, of which we speak, in subjection to angels. 6 But one testified in a certain place, saying:
(C)“What is man that You are mindful of him,
Or the son of man that You take care of him?
7 You have made him [a]a little lower than the angels;
You have crowned him with glory and honor,
[b]And set him over the works of Your hands.
8 (D)You have put all things in subjection under his feet.”
For in that He put all in subjection under him, He left nothing that is not put under him. But now (E)we do not yet see all things put under him. 9 But we see Jesus, (F)who was made [c]a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death (G)crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death (H)for everyone.
