14 ¶ But Peter standing with the eleven, [a]lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judea, and ye all that inhabit Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken unto my words.
22 [a]Ye men of Israel, hear these words, JESUS of Nazareth, a man [b]approved of God among you with great works, and wonders, and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:
23 Him, I say, being delivered by the determinate counsel, and [c]foreknowledge of God, after you had taken, with wicked [d]hands you have crucified and [e]slain.
24 [f]Whom God hath raised up, and loosed the [g]sorrows of death, because it was impossible that he should be holden of it.
25 For David saith concerning him, (A)I beheld the Lord always before me: for he is at my right hand, that I should not be shaken.
26 Therefore did mine heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad, and moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope,
27 Because thou wilt not [h]leave my soul in grave, neither wilt suffer thine Holy one to see corruption.
28 Thou hast [i]showed me the ways of life, and shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.
29 Men and brethren, I may boldly speak unto you of the Patriarch David, (B)that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulcher remaineth with us unto this day.
30 Therefore, seeing he was a Prophet, and knew that God had (C)[j]sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins he would raise up Christ concerning the flesh, to set him upon his throne.
31 He knowing this before, spake of the resurrection of Christ, that (D)his soul should not be left in grave, neither his flesh should see corruption.
32 [k]This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
16 1 David prayeth to God for succor not for his works, but for his faith’s sake. 4 Protesting that he hateth all idolatry, taking God only for his comfort and felicity. 8 Who suffereth his to lack nothing.

1 Preserve me, O GOD: for in thee do I [b]trust.
2 O my soul, thou hast said unto the Lord, Thou art my Lord: my [c]well doing extendeth not to thee,
3 But to the Saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent: all my delight is in them.
4 The [d]sorrows of them, that offer to another god, shall be multiplied: [e]their offerings of blood will I not offer, neither make (A)mention of their names with my lips.
5 The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou shalt maintain my lot.
6 The [f]lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places: yea, I have a fair heritage.
7 I will praise the Lord, who hath given me counsel: my [g]reins also teach me in the nights.
8 I have set the Lord always before me: for he is at my right hand: therefore I [h]shall not slide.
9 Wherefore [i]mine heart is glad, and my tongue rejoiceth: my flesh also doth rest in hope.
10 For thou [j]wilt not leave my soul in the grave: neither wilt thou suffer thine holy One to see corruption.
11 Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy [k]presence is the fullness of joy: and at thy right hand there are pleasures forevermore.
3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a [a]lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 To an inheritance immortal and undefiled, and that withereth not, reserved in heaven for us,
5 [b]Which are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation, which is prepared to be showed in the [c]last time.
6 Wherein ye rejoice, though now for a season (if need require) ye are in heaviness, through manifold tentations,
7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perisheth (though it be tried with fire) might be found unto your praise, and honor and glory at the [d]appearing of Jesus Christ:
8 Whom ye have not seen, and yet love him, in whom now, though ye see him not, yet do you believe, and rejoice with [joy] unspeakable and glorious,
9 Receiving the [e]end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
19 ¶ (A)[a]The same day then at night, which was the first day of the week, and when the [b]doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and said to them, Peace be unto you.
20 And when he had so said, he showed unto them his hands, and his side. Then were the disciples glad when they had seen the Lord.
21 (B)Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father sent me, so send I you.
22 And when he had said that, he breathed on them, and said unto them, Receive the holy Ghost.
23 [c]Whosoever’s sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them: and whosoever’s sins ye retain, they are retained.
24 ¶ [d]But Thomas one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.
25 The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord: but he said unto them, Except I see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put mine hand into his side, I will not believe it.
26 ¶ And eight days after, again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them. Then came Jesus, when the doors were shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.
27 After said he to Thomas, Put thy finger here, and see mine hands, and put forth thine hand, and put it into my side, and be not faithless, but faithful.
28 Then Thomas answered, and said unto him, Thou art my Lord, and my God.
29 [e]Jesus said unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou believest: blessed are they that have not seen, and have believed.
30 (C)[f]And many other signs also did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book.
31 But these things are written that ye might believe, that Jesus is that Christ that Son of God, and that in believing ye might have life through his Name.
