Jeremiah 23:1-6

23 “Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of My pasture,” says the LORD.

“Therefore, thus says the LORD God of Israel to the shepherds who feed My people: You have scattered My flock, and thrust them out, and have not visited them. Behold, I will reckon with you for the wickedness of your works,” says the LORD.

“And I will gather the remnant of My sheep out of all countries where I had driven them and will bring them again to their folds. And they shall grow and increase.

“And I will set up shepherds over them who shall feed them. And they shall dread no more nor be afraid, nor shall any of them be lacking,” says the LORD.

“Behold, the days come,” says the LORD, “that I will raise to David a righteous Branch. And a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice on the Earth.

“In His days, Judah shall be saved and Israel shall dwell safely. And this is the Name by which they shall call Him: The Lord Our Righteousness.

Luke 1:68-79

68 “Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, because He has visited and redeemed His people!

69 “And He has raised up the Horn of Salvation unto us, in the House of His servant David,

70 “as He spoke by the mouth of His Holy Prophets. Who were, since the world began, saying,

71 ‘deliverance from our enemies, and from the hands of all that hate us.’

72 “So that He might show mercy towards our fathers, and remember His Holy Covenant -

73 “the oath, which He swore to our father, Abraham -

74 “that he would grant to us. So that we, being delivered out of the hands of our enemies, should serve him without fear

75 “all the days of our life, in holiness and righteousness before him.

76 “And you, child, shall be called the Prophet of the Most High. For you shall go before the face of the Lord to prepare His ways,

77 “to give knowledge of salvation to His people, by the remission of their sins

78 “through the tender mercy of our God (whereby the Dayspring from on high has visited us),

79 “to give light to those who sit in darkness (and in the shadow of death), and to guide our feet into the way of peace.”

Colossians 1:11-20

11 strengthened with all might through His glorious power, leading to all patience and endurance with joy;

12 giving thanks to the Father Who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light;

13 Who has delivered us from the power of darkness and has transferred us into the Kingdom of His dear Son

14 (in Whom we have redemption through His blood; that is, the forgiveness of sins).

15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creation.

16 For by Him were all things created which are in Heaven and which are on Earth—things visible and invisible —whether thrones or dominions or rulers or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.

17 And He is before all things. And in Him all things consist.

18 And He is the Head of the body of the Church. He is the Beginning; Firstborn from the dead; so that in all things He might have preeminence.

19 For in Him was all fullness pleased to dwell.

20 And through Him were all things reconciled to Himself, having made peace by the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on Earth or things in Heaven.

Luke 23:33-43

33 And when they had come to the place which is called Calvary, they crucified Him and the criminals there - one on the right hand and the other on the left.

34 Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them! For they do not know what they do!” And they divided His clothing and cast lots.

35 And the people stood and looked on. And the rulers mocked Him with them, saying, “He saved others! Let Him save Himself if He is the Christ! The Chosen of God!”

36 The soldiers also mocked Him, and came and offered Him vinegar,

37 and said, “If You are the King of the Jews, save yourself!”

38 And an inscription was also written over Him, in Greek letters, and in Latin, and in Hebrew, “THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.”

39 And one of the criminals who were hanged, railed at Him, saying, “If You are the Christ, save Yourself and us!”

40 But the other answered, and rebuked him, saying, “Do you not fear God, seeing you are in the same condemnation?

41 “We are indeed here righteously! For we receive things worthy of what we have done. But this Man has done nothing wrong!”

42 And he said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your Kingdom.”

43 Then Jesus said to him, “Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise.”
