Fifth Vision: The Lord beside the Altar
9 I saw the Lord standing beside the altar,(G) and He said:
Strike the capitals of the pillars(H)
so that the thresholds shake;
knock them down on the heads of all the people.
Then I will kill the rest of them with the sword.(I)
None of those who flee will get away;(J)
none of the fugitives will escape.

from there My hand will take them;
if they climb up to heaven,(L)
from there I will bring them down.
3 If they hide themselves
on the top of Carmel,
from there I will track them down(M)
and seize them;
if they conceal themselves
from My sight on the sea floor,(N)
from there I will command
the sea serpent to bite them.(O)
4 And if they are driven
by their enemies into captivity,(P)
from there I will command
the sword to kill them.(Q)
I will fix My eyes on them
for harm and not for good.(R)
2 My little children, I am writing you these things so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate(A) with the Father—Jesus Christ the Righteous One. 2 He Himself is the propitiation(B) for our sins, and not only for ours, but also for those of the whole world.(C)
God’s Commands
3 This is how we are sure(D) that we have come to know Him: by keeping His commands.(E) 4 The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” yet doesn't keep His commands, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoever keeps His word,(F) truly in him the love of God is perfected.[a] This is how we know we are in Him:(G) 6 The one who says he remains in Him(H) should walk just as He walked.
