Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
7 O LORD my God, in You I put my trust. Save me from all who persecute me, and deliver me,
2 lest he devour my soul like a lion, and tear it in pieces, while there is no one to help.
3 O LORD, my God, if I have done this thing, if there is any wickedness in my hands,
4 if I have rewarded evil to him who had peace with me (indeed, I have delivered him without cause),
5 let the enemies persecute my soul and take it. Indeed, let him tread my life down upon the Earth, and lay my honor in the dust. Selah.
6 Arise, O LORD, in Your wrath, and lift up Yourself against the rage of my enemies. Awaken me to the judgment You have appointed.
7 So shall the congregation of the people surround You. For their sakes, therefore, return on High.
8 The LORD shall judge the people. Judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness and according to my innocence in me.
9 Oh, let the malice of the wicked come to an end. But guide the just. For the righteous God tries the hearts and reins.
10 My defense is in God, Who preserves the upright in heart.
11 God judges the righteous, and he who denounces God, every day.
12 Unless he turns, He has sharpened His sword. He has bent His bow and made it ready.
13 He has also prepared deadly weapons. He will ordain His arrows for those who persecute.
14 Behold, he shall work with wickedness, for he has conceived mischief. But he shall bring forth a lie.
15 He has made a pit, and dug it, and has fallen into the pit he made.
16 His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his cruelty shall fall upon his own head.
17 I will praise the LORD according to His righteousness and will sing praise to the Name of the LORD Most High. To him who excels on Gittith: A Psalm of David.
5 Hear this Word which I lift up upon you; a lamentation of the House of Israel.
2 The virgin Israel has fallen and shall rise no more. She is left upon her land, and there is none to raise her up.
3 For thus says the LORD God: “The city which went out by a thousand, shall leave a hundred. And that which went forth by a hundred, shall leave ten to the House of Israel.”
4 For thus says the LORD to the House of Israel: “Seek Me, and you shall live.”
5 But do not seek Bethel, nor enter into Gilgal. And do not go to Beersheba. For Gilgal shall go into captivity, and Bethel shall come to naught.
6 Seek the LORD, and you shall live, lest He break out like fire in the House of Joseph and devour it; and there are none to quench it in Bethel.
7 They turn judgment to wormwood and leave off righteousness in the Earth.
8 He makes Pleiades and Orion; and He turns the shadow of death into the morning; and He makes the day dark as night. He calls the waters of the sea and pours them out upon the open earth. The LORD is His Name.
9 He strengthens the destroyer against the mighty. And the destroyer shall come against the fortress.
31 “And when the Son of Man comes in His Glory and all the holy angels with Him, then He shall sit upon the throne of His Glory,
32 “And all nations shall be gathered before Him, and He shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
33 “And He shall set the sheep on his right hand and the goats on the left.
34 “Then the King shall say to those on his right hand, ‘Come you blessed of My Father. Take the inheritance of the Kingdom, prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
35 “‘For I was hungry, and you gave Me food. I thirsted, and you gave Me drink. I was a stranger, and you took Me in to you.
36 “‘I was naked, and you clothed Me. I was sick, and you visited Me. I was in prison, and you came to Me.’
37 “Then the righteous shall answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You; or thirsty and give You drink?
38 “‘And when did we see You as a stranger and take You in to us; or naked and clothe You?
39 “‘Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’
40 “And the king shall answer, and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, inasmuch as you have done it to one of the least of these, My brothers, you have done it to Me.’
41 “Then He shall say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me you cursed, into everlasting fire, which is prepared for the devil and his angels.
42 “‘For I was hungry, and you gave Me no food. I thirsted, and you gave Me no drink.
43 “‘I was a stranger, and you did not take Me in to you. I was naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me.’
44 “Then they shall answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry; or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister to You?’
45 “Then He shall answer them, and say, ‘Truly I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’
46 “And these shall go into everlasting pain, and the righteous into life eternal.”
