Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
Trust in the Name of the Lord Our God
To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David.
20 May the Lord (A)answer you in the day of trouble!
May (B)the name of the God of Jacob (C)protect you!
2 May he send you help from (D)the sanctuary
and give you support from (E)Zion!
3 May he (F)remember all your offerings
and regard with favor your burnt sacrifices! Selah
4 May he (G)grant you your heart's desire
and fulfill all your plans!
5 May we shout for joy over (H)your salvation,
and in the name of our God set up our (I)banners!
May the Lord fulfill all your petitions!
6 Now I know that the Lord saves his anointed;
he will answer him from his holy heaven
with (J)the saving might of his right hand.
7 Some trust in (K)chariots and some in (L)horses,
(M)but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
8 They collapse and fall,
but we rise and stand upright.
9 O Lord, save (N)the king!
May he answer us when we call.
The Tabernacle Erected
40 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 2 “On the (A)first day of the first month you shall (B)erect the tabernacle of the tent of meeting. 3 And you shall put in it the ark of the testimony, and you shall (C)screen the ark with the veil. 4 And (D)you shall bring in the table and arrange it, and (E)you shall bring in the lampstand and set up its lamps. 5 (F)And you shall put the golden altar for incense before the ark of the testimony, and set up the screen for the door of the tabernacle. 6 (G)You shall set the altar of burnt offering before the door of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting, 7 (H)and place the basin between the tent of meeting and the altar, and put water in it. 8 And you shall set up the court all around, and hang up the screen for the gate of the court.
9 “Then you shall take the (I)anointing oil and anoint the tabernacle and all that is in it, and consecrate it and all its furniture, so that it may become holy. 10 You shall also anoint (J)the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils, and consecrate the altar, (K)so that the altar may become most holy. 11 You shall also anoint the basin and its stand, and consecrate it. 12 (L)Then you shall bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance of the tent of meeting and shall wash them with water 13 and put on Aaron the holy garments. And you shall anoint him and consecrate him, that he may serve me as priest. 14 You shall bring his sons also and put coats on them, 15 (M)and anoint them, as you anointed their father, that they may serve me as priests. And their anointing shall admit them to a (N)perpetual priesthood throughout their generations.”
The Full Assurance of Faith
19 (A)Therefore, brothers,[a] since we have confidence to enter (B)the holy places by the blood of Jesus, 20 by (C)the new and living way that he opened for us through (D)the curtain, that is, through his flesh, 21 and since we have (E)a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts (F)sprinkled clean (G)from an evil conscience and our bodies (H)washed with pure water. 23 (I)Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for (J)he who promised is faithful. 24 And (K)let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 (L)not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and (M)all the more as you see (N)the Day drawing near.
