101 I will sing of mercy and judgment; unto Thee, O Lord, will I sing.

² I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt Thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.

³ I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes; I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.

⁴ A froward heart shall depart from me; I will not know a wicked person.

⁵ Whoso privily slandereth his neighbor, him will I cut off; him that hath a haughty look and a proud heart will I not suffer.

⁶ Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me; he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me.

⁷ He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house; he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight.

⁸ I will early destroy all the wicked of the land, that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the Lord.

7 But Solomon was building his own house thirteen years, and he finished all his house.

² He built also the House of the Forest of Lebanon; the length thereof was a hundred cubits, and the breadth thereof fifty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits, upon four rows of cedar pillars, with cedar beams upon the pillars.

³ And it was covered with cedar above upon the beams that lay on fortyfive pillars, fifteen in a row.

⁴ And there were windows in three rows, and light was against light in three ranks.

⁵ And all the doors and posts were square, with the windows; and light was against light in three ranks.

⁶ And he made a Porch of Pillars: the length thereof was fifty cubits, and the breadth thereof thirty cubits; and the porch was in front of them, and the other pillars and the thick beam were in front of them.

⁷ Then he made a porch for the throne where he might judge, even the Porch of Judgment; and it was covered with cedar from one side of the floor to the other.

⁸ And his house where he dwelt had another court within the porch, which was of the like work. Solomon made also a house for Pharaoh’s daughter, whom he had taken for a wife, like unto this porch.

⁹ All these were of costly stones, according to the measures of hewn stones, sawed with saws, within and without, even from the foundation unto the coping, and so on the outside toward the great court.

¹⁰ And the foundation was of costly stones, even great stones, stones of ten cubits, and stones of eight cubits.

¹¹ And above were costly stones, according to the measures of hewn stones and cedars.

¹² And the great court round about was with three rows of hewn stone and a row of cedar beams, both for the inner court of the house of the Lord and for the porch of the house.

⁹ And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt. But God was with him

¹⁰ and delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favor and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, who made him governor over Egypt and all his house.

¹¹ “Now there came a dearth and great affliction over all the land of Egypt and Canaan, and our fathers found no sustenance.

¹² But when Jacob heard that there was corn in Egypt, he first sent out our fathers.

¹³ And on the second visit Joseph was made known to his brethren, and Joseph’s kindred were made known unto Pharaoh.

¹⁴ Then Joseph sent and called his father Jacob to him and all his kindred, threescore and fifteen souls.

¹⁵ So Jacob went down into Egypt and died, he and our fathers.

¹⁶ And they were carried back into Shechem, and laid in the sepulcher that Abraham had bought for a sum of money from the sons of Hamor, the father of Shechem.
