7 And it came to pass, when the king dwelt in his house, and Jehovah had given him rest from all his enemies round about, ² that the king said unto Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of God dwelleth within curtains. ³ And Nathan said to the king, Go, do all that is in thy heart; for Jehovah is with thee. ⁴ And it came to pass the same night, that the word of Jehovah came unto Nathan, saying, ⁵ Go and tell my servant David, Thus saith Jehovah, Shalt thou build me a house for me to dwell in? ⁶ for I have not dwelt in a house since the day that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, but have walked in a tent and in a tabernacle. ⁷ In all places wherein I have walked with all the children of Israel, spake I a word with ^[a]any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to be shepherd of my people Israel, saying, Why have ye not built me a house of cedar? ⁸ Now therefore thus shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, I took thee from the ^[b]sheepcote, from following the sheep, that thou shouldest be ^[c]prince over my people, over Israel; ⁹ and I have been with thee whithersoever thou wentest, and have cut off all thine enemies from before thee; and I will make thee a great name, like unto the name of the great ones that are in the earth. ¹⁰ And I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in their own place, and be moved no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as at the first, ¹¹ and as from the day that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel; and I ^[d]will cause thee to rest from all thine enemies. Moreover Jehovah telleth thee that Jehovah will make thee a house. ¹² When thy days are fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, that shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. ¹³ He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom for ever. ¹⁴ I will be his father, and he shall be my son: if he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men;

¹¹ Wherefore remember, that once ye, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called Circumcision, in the flesh, made by hands; ¹² that ye were at that time separate from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of the promise, having no hope and without God in the world. ¹³ But now in Christ Jesus ye that once were far off are made nigh in the blood of Christ. ¹⁴ For he is our peace, who made both one, and brake down the middle wall of partition, ¹⁵ having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; that he might create in himself of the two one new man, so making peace; ¹⁶ and might reconcile them both in one body unto God through the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: ¹⁷ and he came and ^[a]preached peace to you that were far off, and peace to them that were nigh: ¹⁸ for through him we both have our access in one Spirit unto the Father. ¹⁹ So then ye are no more strangers and sojourners, but ye are fellow-citizens with the saints, and of the household of God, ²⁰ being built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the chief corner stone; ²¹ in whom ^[b]each several building, fitly framed together, groweth into a holy ^[c]temple in the Lord; ²² in whom ye also are builded together ^[d]for a habitation of God in the Spirit.

³⁰ And the apostles gather themselves together unto Jesus; and they told him all things, whatsoever they had done, and whatsoever they had taught. ³¹ And he saith unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while. For there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat. ³² And they went away in the boat to a desert place apart. ³³ And the people saw them going, and many knew them, and they ran together there ^[a]on foot from all the cities, and outwent them. ³⁴ And he came forth and saw a great multitude, and he had compassion on them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.

⁵³ And when they had ^[a]crossed over, they came to the land unto Gennesaret, and moored to the shore. ⁵⁴ And when they were come out of the boat, straightway the people knew him, ⁵⁵ and ran round about that whole region, and began to carry about on their ^[b]beds those that were sick, where they heard he was. ⁵⁶ And wheresoever he entered, into villages, or into cities, or into the country, they laid the sick in the marketplaces, and besought him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched ^[c]him were made whole.
