30 The Word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
2 “Thus speaks the LORD God of Israel, saying, ‘Write all the Words that I have spoken to you in a Book.
3 ‘For lo, the days come,’ says the LORD, ‘that I will bring back the captivity of My people, Israel and Judah,’ says the LORD. ‘For I will restore them to the land that I gave to their fathers. And they shall possess it.’”
4 Again, these are the Words that the LORD spoke concerning Israel and concerning Judah.
5 “For thus says the LORD: ‘We have heard a terrible voice, of fear and not of peace.
6 ‘Demand now and behold if a man can labor with child. Why do I behold every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in labor, and all faces are turned pale?
7 ‘Alas, for this day is great. None like it. It is the time of Jacob’s trouble, yet shall he be delivered from it.
8 ‘For on that day,’ says the LORD of Hosts, ‘I will break his yoke from off your neck and break your bonds. And strangers shall no longer enslave them.
9 ‘But they shall serve the LORD their God and David, their king, whom I will raise up to them.
10 ‘Therefore, do not fear, O My servant, Jacob,’ says the LORD, ‘or be afraid, O Israel. For lo, I will deliver you from afar, and your seed from the land of their captivity, and Jacob shall turn back, and shall be in rest and peace. And no one shall make him afraid.
11 ‘For I am with you,’ says the LORD, ‘to save you. Though I utterly destroy all the nations where I have scattered you, still I will not utterly destroy you. But I will correct you by judgment, not utterly cut you off.’
10 In this are the children of God and the children of the devil known. Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother.
11 For this is the message that you heard from the beginning: that we should love one another;
12 not as Cain, who was of the wicked one and killed his brother. And why did he kill him? Because his own works were evil and his brother’s good.
13 Do not marvel, my brothers, though this world hates you.
14 We know that we have passed over from death to life because we love the brothers. The one who does not love his brother remains in death.
15 Whoever hates his brother is a murderer. And you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.
16 By this we have perceived love: that He laid down His life for us. Therefore, we also ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.
