Version
Psalm 62:5-12

I find rest in God;
    only he gives me hope.
He is my rock and my salvation.
    He is my defender;
    I will not be defeated.
My honor and salvation come from God.
    He is my mighty rock and my protection.

People, trust God all the time.
    Tell him all your problems,
    because God is our protection. Selah

The least of people are only a breath,
    and even the greatest are just a lie.
On the scales, they weigh nothing;
    together they are only a breath.
10 Do not trust in force.
    Stealing is of no use.
Even if you gain more riches,
    don’t put your trust in them.

11 God has said this,
    and I have heard it over and over:
    God is strong.
12 The Lord is loving.
    You reward people for what they have done.

Jeremiah 20:14-18

Jeremiah’s Sixth Complaint

14 Let there be a curse on the day I was born;
    let there be no blessing on the day when my mother gave birth to me.
15 Let there be a curse on the man
    who brought my father the news:
“You have a son!”
    This made my father very glad.
16 Let that man be like the towns
    the Lord destroyed without pity.
Let him hear loud crying in the morning
    and battle cries at noon,
17 because he did not kill me before I was born.
    Then my mother would have been my grave;
    she would have stayed pregnant forever.
18 Why did I have to come out of my mother’s body?
    All I have known is trouble and sorrow,
    and my life will end in shame.

Luke 10:13-16

Jesus Warns Unbelievers

13 “How terrible for you, Korazin! How terrible for you, Bethsaida! If the miracles I did in you had happened in Tyre and Sidon,[a] those people would have changed their lives long ago. They would have worn rough cloth and put ashes on themselves to show they had changed. 14 But on the Judgment Day it will be better for Tyre and Sidon than for you. 15 And you, Capernaum,[b] will you be lifted up to heaven? No! You will be thrown down to the depths!

16 “Whoever listens to you listens to me, and whoever refuses to accept you refuses to accept me. And whoever refuses to accept me refuses to accept the One who sent me.”
