Version
Psalm 125

The Lord Surrounds His People.

A Song of Ascents.

125 Those who trust in the Lord
Are as Mount Zion, which (A)cannot be moved but (B)abides forever.
As the mountains surround Jerusalem,
So (C)the Lord surrounds His people
(D)From this time forth and forever.
For the (E)scepter of wickedness shall not rest upon the [a]land of the righteous,
So that the righteous (F)will not put forth their hands to do wrong.

(G)Do good, O Lord, to those who are good
And to those who are (H)upright in their hearts.
But as for those who (I)turn aside to their (J)crooked ways,
The Lord will lead them away with the (K)doers of iniquity.
(L)Peace be upon Israel.

Malachi 3:16-4:6

The Book of Remembrance

16 Then those who [a]feared the Lord spoke to one another, and the Lord (A)gave attention and heard it, and a (B)book of remembrance was written before Him for those who [b]fear the Lord and who esteem His name. 17 “They will be (C)Mine,” says the Lord of hosts, “on the (D)day that I [c]prepare My [d](E)own possession, and I will [e]spare them as a man [f](F)spares his own son who serves him.” 18 So you will again (G)distinguish between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him.

Final Admonition

[g]For behold, the day is coming, (H)burning like a furnace; and all the arrogant and every evildoer will be (I)chaff; and the day that is coming will (J)set them ablaze,” says the Lord of hosts, “so that it will leave them neither root nor branch.” “But for you who [h]fear My name, the (K)sun of righteousness will rise with (L)healing in its wings; and you will go forth and (M)skip about like calves from the stall. You will (N)tread down the wicked, for they will be (O)ashes under the soles of your feet (P)on the day [i]which I am preparing,” says the Lord of hosts.

[j](Q)Remember the law of Moses My servant, even the statutes and ordinances which I commanded him in Horeb for all Israel.

“Behold, I am going to send you (R)Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and terrible day of the Lord. He will [k](S)restore the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers, so that I will not come and (T)smite the land with a [l]curse.”

Mark 9:9-13

(A)As they were coming down from the mountain, He (B)gave them orders not to relate to anyone what they had seen, [a]until the Son of Man rose from the dead. 10 They [b]seized upon [c]that statement, discussing with one another [d]what rising from the dead meant. 11 They asked Him, saying, “Why is it that the scribes say that (C)Elijah must come first?” 12 And He said to them, “Elijah does first come and restore all things. And yet how is it written of (D)the Son of Man that (E)He will suffer many things and be treated with contempt? 13 But I say to you that Elijah has [e]indeed come, and they did to him whatever they wished, just as it is written of him.”
