A Song; a Psalm of Asaph.

83 O God, keep not silence; hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God:

² For behold, thine enemies make a tumult; and they that hate thee lift up the head.

³ They take crafty counsel against thy people, and consult against thy hidden ones:

⁴ They say, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, and let the name of Israel be mentioned no more.

¹³ O my God, make them like a whirling thing, like stubble before the wind.

¹⁴ As fire burneth a forest, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire,

¹⁵ So pursue them with thy tempest, and terrify them with thy whirlwind.

¹⁶ Fill their faces with shame, that they may seek thy name, O Jehovah.

¹⁷ Let them be put to shame and be dismayed for ever, and let them be confounded and perish:

¹⁸ That they may know that thou alone, whose name is Jehovah, art the Most High over all the earth.

¹⁴ And Jehovah said to Moses, Pharaoh's heart is hardened: he refuseth to let the people go.

¹⁵ Go unto Pharaoh in the morning—behold, he will go out unto the water—and take thy stand by the bank of the river in front of him; and take in thy hand the staff that was turned into a serpent.

¹⁶ And say unto him, Jehovah the God of the Hebrews has sent me to thee, saying, Let my people go, that they may serve me in the wilderness; but behold, hitherto thou hast not hearkened.

¹⁷ Thus saith Jehovah: In this shalt thou know that I am Jehovah—behold, I will smite with the staff that is in my hand upon the water which is in the river, and it shall be turned into blood.

¹⁸ And the fish that is in the river shall die; and the river shall stink; and the Egyptians shall loathe to drink the water out of the river.

¹⁹ And Jehovah said to Moses, Say unto Aaron, Take thy staff, and stretch out thy hand upon the waters of the Egyptians—upon their streams, upon their rivers, and upon their ponds, and upon all their reservoirs of water, that they may become blood; and there shall be blood throughout the land of Egypt, both in [vessels of] wood and in [vessels of] stone.

²⁰ And Moses and Aaron did so, as Jehovah had commanded; and he lifted up the staff, and smote the waters that were in the river before the eyes of Pharaoh, and before the eyes of his bondmen; and all the waters that were in the river were turned into blood.

²¹ And the fish that was in the river died; and the river stank, and the Egyptians could not drink the water of the river; and the blood was throughout the land of Egypt.

²² And the scribes of Egypt did so with their sorceries; and Pharaoh's heart was stubborn, neither did he hearken to them, as Jehovah had said.

²³ And Pharaoh turned and went into his house, and took not this to heart either.

²⁴ And all the Egyptians dug round about the river for water to drink; for they could not drink of the water of the river.

²⁵ And seven days were fulfilled, after Jehovah had smitten the river.

²² Then was brought to him one possessed by a demon, blind and dumb, and he healed him, so that the dumb [man] spake and saw.

²³ And all the crowds were amazed and said, Is this [man] the Son of David?

²⁴ But the Pharisees, having heard [it], said, This [man] does not cast out demons, but by Beelzebub, prince of demons.

²⁵ But he, knowing their thoughts, said to them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not subsist.

²⁶ And if Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself; how then shall his kingdom subsist?

²⁷ And if *I* cast out demons by Beelzebub, your sons, by whom do they cast [them] out? For this reason *they* shall be your judges.

²⁸ But if *I* by [the] Spirit of God cast out demons, then indeed the kingdom of God is come upon you.

²⁹ Or how can any one enter into the house of the strong [man] and plunder his goods, unless first he bind the strong [man]? and then he will plunder his house.

³⁰ He that is not with me is against me, and he that gathers not with me scatters.

³¹ For this reason I say unto you, Every sin and injurious speaking shall be forgiven to men, but speaking injuriously of the Spirit shall not be forgiven to men.

³² And whosoever shall have spoken a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him; but whosoever shall speak against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this age nor in the coming [one].
