Psalm 105:1-6

The Lord Can Be Trusted

(A) Praise the Lord
    and pray in his name!
Tell everyone
    what he has done.
Sing praises to the Lord!
    Tell about his miracles.
Celebrate and worship
his holy name
    with all your heart.

Trust the Lord
    and his mighty power.
Remember his miracles
and all his wonders
    and his fair decisions.
You belong to the family
    of Abraham, his servant;
you are his chosen ones,
    the descendants of Jacob.

Psalm 105:23-26

23 (A) Jacob and his family
came and settled in Egypt
    as foreigners.
24 (B) They were the Lord's people,
so he let them grow stronger
    than their enemies.
25 They served the Lord,
and he made the Egyptians plan
    hateful things against them.
26 (C) God sent his servant Moses.
He also chose and sent Aaron

Psalm 105:45

45 He did this so that his people
would obey all his laws.
    Shout praises to the Lord!

Exodus 2:23-24

23 After the death of the king of Egypt, the Israelites still complained because they were forced to be slaves. They cried out for help, 24 (A) and God heard their loud cries. He did not forget the promise he had made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob,

Ephesians 5:1-6

Do as God does. After all, you are his dear children. (A) Let love be your guide. Christ loved us[a] and offered his life for us as a sacrifice that pleases God.

You are God's people, so don't let it be said that any of you are immoral or indecent or greedy. Don't use dirty or foolish or filthy words. Instead, say how thankful you are. Being greedy, indecent, or immoral is just another way of worshiping idols. You can be sure people who behave in this way will never be part of the kingdom that belongs to Christ and to God.

Living as People of Light

Don't let anyone trick you with foolish talk. God punishes everyone who disobeys him and says[b] foolish things.
