Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
Remember His Wondrous Deeds
105 Oh (A)give thanks to Yahweh, (B)call upon His name;
(C)Make known His acts among the peoples.
2 Sing to Him, (D)sing praises to Him;
(E)Muse on all His wondrous deeds.
3 Boast in His holy name;
Let the (F)heart of those who seek Yahweh be glad.
4 Inquire of Yahweh and (G)His strength;
(H)Seek His face continually.
5 Remember His (I)wondrous deeds which He has done,
His miracles and the (J)judgments [a]uttered by His mouth,
6 O seed of (K)Abraham, His servant,
O sons of (L)Jacob, His (M)chosen ones!
7 He is Yahweh our God;
His (N)judgments are in all the earth.
8 He has (O)remembered His covenant forever,
The word which He commanded for a (P)thousand generations,
9 (Q)Which He cut with Abraham,
And His (R)oath to Isaac.
10 Then He (S)confirmed it to Jacob for a statute,
To Israel as an everlasting covenant,
11 Saying, “(T)To you I will give the land of Canaan
As the [b](U)portion of your inheritance,”
9 While he was still speaking with them, Rachel came with her father’s sheep, for she was a shepherdess. 10 Now it happened, when Jacob saw Rachel the daughter of Laban his mother’s brother and the sheep of Laban his mother’s brother, Jacob came near and rolled the stone from the mouth of the well and gave water to the flock of Laban his mother’s brother to drink. 11 Then Jacob (A)kissed Rachel and lifted his voice and wept. 12 And Jacob told Rachel that he was a [a](B)relative of her father and that he was Rebekah’s son, and (C)she ran and told her father.
13 So it happened that when (D)Laban heard the report of Jacob his sister’s son, he ran to meet him, and he (E)embraced him and kissed him and brought him to his house. Then he recounted to Laban all these things. 14 And Laban said to him, “Surely you are (F)my bone and my flesh.” And he stayed with him one month.
44 “Our fathers had (A)the tabernacle of testimony in the wilderness, just as He, who spoke to Moses, directed him to make it (B)according to the pattern which he had seen. 45 And having received it in their turn, our fathers (C)brought it in with [a]Joshua when they dispossessed the [b]nations whom God drove out before our fathers, until the time of David. 46 (D)David found favor in the sight of God, and (E)asked that he might find a dwelling place for the [c]God of Jacob. 47 But (F)Solomon built a house for Him. 48 However, (G)the Most High does not dwell in houses made by human hands, as the prophet says:
49 ‘(H)Heaven is My throne,
And earth is the footstool of My feet.
What kind of house will you build for Me?’ says the Lord,
‘Or what place is there for My rest?
50 (I)Was it not My hand which made all these things?’
51 “You men—(J)stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears—are always resisting the Holy Spirit. As your fathers did, so do you. 52 (K)And which one of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? They killed those who had previously announced the coming of (L)the Righteous One, whose betrayers and murderers (M)you have now become; 53 you who received the Law as (N)ordained by angels, and yet did not observe it.”
