Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
HE.
33 ¶ Teach me, O LORD, the way of thy statutes, and I shall keep it unto the end.
34 Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart.
35 ¶ Make me to go in the path of thy commandments, for therein do I delight.
36 Incline my heart unto thy testimonies and not to covetousness.
37 ¶ Turn away my eyes from beholding vanity, and cause me to live in thy way.
38 ¶ Confirm thy word unto thy slave, who is devoted to thy fear.
39 ¶ Turn away my reproach which I have feared, for thy judgments are good.
40 ¶ Behold, I have longed after thy precepts; cause me to live in thy righteousness.
10 ¶ In that season the son of an Israelite woman, whose father was an Egyptian, went out among the sons of Israel; and this son of the Israelite woman and a man of Israel strove together in the camp;
11 and the Israelite woman’s son pronounced the Name and cursed; and they brought him unto Moses. And his mother’s name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan.
12 And they put him in ward that the mind of the LORD might be showed them.
13 And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,
14 Bring forth the one that has blasphemed outside the camp and let all that heard him lay their hands upon his head, and let all the congregation stone him.
15 And thou shalt speak unto the sons of Israel, saying, The man that speaks evil of his God shall bear his sin.
16 And he that pronounces the name of the LORD shall surely be put to death; all the congregation shall certainly stone him; the same with the stranger as with the natural, if he pronounces the Name, he shall be put to death.
17 Likewise he that kills any man shall surely be put to death.
18 And he that kills an animal shall make it good: animal for animal.
19 And if a man causes a blemish in his neighbour; as he has done, so shall it be done to him;
20 breach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth: as he has caused a blemish in a man, so shall it be done to him again.
21 He that kills an animal shall restore it, but he that kills a man shall be put to death.
22 Ye shall have one manner of law: as for the stranger, so shall it be for the natural; for I am the LORD your God.
23 And Moses spoke to the sons of Israel that they should bring forth the one that had blasphemed out of the camp and stone him with stones. And the sons of Israel did as the LORD commanded Moses.
7 ¶ Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2 For with the judgment with which ye judge, ye shall be judged, and with the measure with which ye measure, ye shall be measured again.
3 And why dost thou behold the mote that is in thy brother’s eye but dost not consider the beam that is in thine own eye?
4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou be able to see to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.
6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet and turn again and rend you.
7 ¶ Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you;
8 for every one that asks receives, and he that seeks finds, and to him that knocks it shall be opened.
9 Or what man is there of you, whom, if his son asks for bread, will he give him a stone?
10 Or if he asks for fish, will he give him a serpent?
11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father who is in the heavens give good things to those that ask him?
12 ¶ Therefore, all things whatsoever ye desire that men should do unto you, so also shall ye do unto them, for this is the law and the prophets.
