33 Teach me, O Lord, the way of your statutes,
and I will observe it to the end.(A)
34 Give me understanding, that I may keep your law
and observe it with my whole heart.(B)
35 Lead me in the path of your commandments,
for I delight in it.
36 Turn my heart to your decrees
and not to selfish gain.(C)
37 Turn my eyes from looking at vanities;
be gracious to me[a] according to your word.(D)
38 Confirm to your servant your promise,
which is for those who fear you.(E)
39 Turn away the disgrace that I dread,
for your ordinances are good.
40 See, I have longed for your precepts;
in your righteousness be gracious to me.[b](F)
6 [a]The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 2 “When any of you sin and commit a trespass against the Lord by deceiving a neighbor in a matter of a deposit or a pledge or by robbery or if you have defrauded a neighbor(A) 3 or have found something lost and lied about it—if you swear falsely regarding any of the various things that one may do and sin(B)— 4 when you have sinned and recognize your guilt and would restore what you took by robbery or by fraud or the deposit that was committed to you or the lost thing that you found 5 or anything else about which you have sworn falsely, you shall repay the principal amount and add one-fifth to it. You shall pay it to its owner when you recognize your guilt.(C) 6 And you shall bring to the priest, as your guilt offering to the Lord, a ram without blemish from the flock, or its equivalent, for a guilt offering.(D) 7 The priest shall make atonement on your behalf before the Lord, and you shall be forgiven for any of the things that one may do and incur guilt thereby.”(E)

I, Paul, am telling you that, if you let yourselves be circumcised, Christ will be of no benefit to you. 3 Once again I testify to every man who lets himself be circumcised that he is obliged to obey the entire law. 4 You who want to be reckoned as righteous[a] by the law have cut yourselves off from Christ; you have fallen away from grace.(A) 5 For through the Spirit, by faith, we eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness.(B) 6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything; the only thing that counts is faith working[b] through love.(C)
