29 Now these are the words of the letter that Jeremiah the prophet sent from Jerusalem unto the residue of the elders who were carried away captives, and to the priests, and to the prophets, and to all the people whom Nebuchadnezzar had carried away captive from Jerusalem to Babylon

⁴ “Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, unto all who are carried away captives, whom I have caused to be carried away from Jerusalem unto Babylon:

⁵ Build ye houses and dwell in them, and plant gardens and eat the fruit of them.

⁶ Take ye wives and beget sons and daughters, and take wives for your sons and give your daughters to husbands, that they may bear sons and daughters, that ye may be increased there, and not diminished.

⁷ And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the Lord for it; for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.

66 Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands!

² Sing forth the honor of His name; make His praise glorious.

³ Say unto God, “How fearsome art Thou in Thy works! Through the greatness of Thy power shall Thine enemies submit themselves unto Thee.

⁴ All the earth shall worship Thee and shall sing unto Thee; they shall sing to Thy name.” Selah

⁵ Come and see the works of God; He is fearsome in His doings toward the children of men.

⁶ He turned the sea into dry land, they went through the flood on foot; there did we rejoice in Him.

⁷ He ruleth by His power for ever, His eyes behold the nations; let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah

⁸ O bless our God, ye people; and make the voice of His praise to be heard,

⁹ who holdeth our soul in life and alloweth not our feet to be moved.

¹⁰ For Thou, O God, hast tried us; Thou hast tried us as silver is tried.

¹¹ Thou broughtest us into the net; Thou laidst affliction upon our loins.

¹² Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water, but Thou broughtest us out into a fruitful place.

⁸ Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my Gospel,

⁹ wherein I suffer trouble as an evildoer, even unto bonds. But the Word of God is not bound.

¹⁰ Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sake, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.

¹¹ It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with Him, we shall also live with Him;

¹² if we suffer, we shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us;

¹³ if we believe not, yet He abideth faithful; He cannot deny Himself.

¹⁴ Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit but to the subverting of the hearers.

¹⁵ Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman who needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

¹¹ And it came to pass as He went to Jerusalem that He passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.

¹² And as He entered into a certain village, there met Him ten men who were lepers, who stood afar off.

¹³ And they lifted up their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”

¹⁴ And when He saw them, He said unto them, “Go, show yourselves unto the priests.” And it came to pass that as they went, they were cleansed.

¹⁵ And one of them when he saw that he was healed, turned back and with a loud voice glorified God,

¹⁶ and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks; and he was a Samaritan.

¹⁷ And Jesus answering said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine?

¹⁸ There are none found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.”

¹⁹ And He said unto him, “Arise; go thy way. Thy faith hath made thee whole.”
