146 Praise ye the Lord! Praise the Lord, O my soul!

² While I live will I praise the Lord; I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being.

³ Put not your trust in princes, nor in a son of man in whom there is no help.

⁴ His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.

⁵ Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God,

⁶ who made heaven and earth, the sea and all that therein is, who keepeth truth for ever;

⁷ who executeth judgment for the oppressed, who giveth food to the hungry; the Lord looseth the prisoners.

⁸ The Lord openeth the eyes of the blind; the Lord raiseth them that are bowed down; the Lord loveth the righteous.

⁹ The Lord preserveth the strangers, He relieveth the fatherless and the widow; but the way of the wicked He turneth upside down.

¹⁰ The Lord shall reign for ever, even Thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. Praise ye the Lord!

¹⁷ And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,

¹⁸ “Speak unto the children of Israel and say unto them: ‘When ye come into the land whither I bring you,

¹⁹ then it shall be that, when ye eat of the bread of the land, ye shall offer up a heave offering unto the Lord.

²⁰ Ye shall offer up a cake of the first of your dough for a heave offering; as ye do the heave offering of the threshing floor, so shall ye heave it.

²¹ Of the first of your dough ye shall give unto the Lord a heave offering in your generations.

²² And if ye have erred and not observed all these commandments which the Lord hath spoken unto Moses—

²³ even all that the Lord hath commanded you by the hand of Moses, from the day that the Lord commanded Moses and henceforward among your generations—

²⁴ then it shall be, if aught be committed by ignorance without the knowledge of the congregation, that all the congregation shall offer one young bullock for a burnt offering for a sweet savor unto the Lord with his meat offering and his drink offering, according to the ordinance, and one kid of the goats for a sin offering.

²⁵ And the priest shall make an atonement for all the congregation of the children of Israel, and it shall be forgiven them, for it is ignorance; and they shall bring their offering, a sacrifice made by fire unto the Lord, and their sin offering before the Lord, for their ignorance.

²⁶ And it shall be forgiven all the congregation of the children of Israel and the stranger who sojourneth among them, seeing all the people were in ignorance.

26 Then Agrippa said unto Paul, “Thou art permitted to speak for thyself.” Then Paul stretched forth his hand and answered for himself:

² “I think myself happy, King Agrippa, because I shall answer for myself this day before thee concerning all the things whereof I am accused by the Jews,

³ especially because I know thee to be expert in all customs and questions which are among the Jews. Therefore I beseech thee to hear me patiently.

⁴ “My manner of life from my youth, which was from the first among mine own nation at Jerusalem, is known to all the Jews.

⁵ They knew me from the beginning, if they would testify, that according to the strictest sect of our religion, I lived as a Pharisee.

⁶ And now I stand and am judged because of the hope of the promise made by God unto our fathers,

⁷ unto which promise our twelve tribes, earnestly serving God day and night, hope to come. For this hope’s sake, King Agrippa, I am accused by the Jews.

⁸ Why should it be thought an incredible thing by you that God should raise the dead?

⁹ “I myself verily thought that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth,

¹⁰ which things I also did in Jerusalem; and many of the saints did I shut up in prison, having received authority from the chief priests; and when they were put to death, I gave my voice against them.

¹¹ And I punished them often in every synagogue, and compelled them to blaspheme; and being exceedingly maddened against them, I persecuted them even unto foreign cities.
