Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
Tell His Wonders for Israel
Psalm 105
1 Praise Adonai, call upon His Name.
Make known His deeds among the peoples.
2 Sing to Him, sing praises to Him—
tell about all His wonders!
3 Glory in His holy Name.
Let the heart of those who seek Adonai rejoice.
4 Seek Adonai and His strength,
seek His face always.
5 Remember His wonders that He has done,
His miracles and the judgments of His mouth,
6 O seed of Abraham, His servant,
O children of Jacob, His chosen ones.
16 He called down a famine on the land.
He broke the whole supply of bread.
17 He sent a man before them—
Joseph, sold as a slave.
18 They hurt His feet with shackles,
he was put in irons—
19 till the time that his word came true—
the word of Adonai proved him true!
20 The king sent and released him.
The ruler of the peoples set him free.
21 He made him lord of his house,
ruler over all his possessions,
22 to discipline his princes at his will,
and teach his elders wisdom.
45 so that they might keep His statutes
and observe His laws.
Halleluyah!
22 While Israel was living in that land, Reuben went and slept with his father’s concubine Bilhah, and Israel heard about it.
Now Jacob had twelve sons. 23 Leah’s sons were Jacob’s firstborn Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar and Zebulun. 24 Rachel’s sons were Joseph and Benjamin. 25 The sons of Bilhah, Rachel’s female servant, were Dan and Naphtali, 26 and the sons of Zilpah, Leah’s female servant, were Gad and Asher. These are Jacob’s sons, who were born to him in Paddan-aram.
27 Then Jacob came to his father Isaac at Mamre of Kiriat-arba (that is, Hebron), where Abraham and Isaac had stayed.
28 Now Isaac’s days were 180 years. 29 Then Isaac breathed his last and died, and was gathered to his peoples, old and full of days. So his sons Esau and Jacob buried him.
10 As soon as it was night, the brothers sent Paul and Silas to Berea. Upon arrival, they made their way to the Jewish synagogue. 11 Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, because they received the message with goodwill, searching the Scriptures each day to see whether these things were true. 12 Therefore many of them believed, as well as quite a few prominent Greek women and men.
13 But when the Jewish people of Thessalonica learned that the word of God had been proclaimed by Paul in Berea, they came there too, agitating and inciting the people. 14 Then the brothers immediately sent Paul away to the sea, but Silas and Timothy remained there. 15 Those escorting Paul brought him as far as Athens. After receiving an order for Silas and Timothy to come to him as soon as possible, they left.
