8 The voice of my beloved! Behold, he cometh leaping upon the mountains, skipping upon the hills.
9 My beloved is like a roe or a young hart. Behold, he standeth behind our wall; he looketh forth at the windows, showing himself through the lattice.
10 My beloved spoke and said unto me, ‘Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.
11 For lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone.
12 The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land.
13 The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.’”
31 And when the Lord saw that Leah was hated, he opened her womb; but Rachel was barren.
32 And Leah conceived and bore a son, and she called his name Reuben [that is, See a son]; for she said, “Surely the Lord hath looked upon my affliction. Now therefore my husband will love me.”
33 And she conceived again and bore a son, and said, “Because the Lord hath heard that I was hated, He hath therefore given me this son also.” And she called his name Simeon [that is, Hearing].
34 And she conceived again and bore a son, and said, “Now this time will my husband be joined unto me, because I have borne him three sons.” Therefore was his name called Levi [that is, Joined].
35 And she conceived again and bore a son; and she said, “Now will I praise the Lord.” Therefore she called his name Judah [that is, Praise], and ceased bearing.
13 Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that His hour had come that He should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them unto the end.
2 And supper being ended, and the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray Him,
3 Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands and that He had come from God and was going to God,
4 rose from supper and laid aside His garments, and took a towel and girded Himself.
5 After that He poured water into a basin, and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel wherewith He was girded.
6 Then came He to Simon Peter, and Peter said unto Him, “Lord, dost Thou wash my feet?”
7 Jesus answered and said unto him, “What I do thou knowest not now, but thou shalt know hereafter.”
8 Peter said unto Him, “Thou shalt never wash my feet.” Jesus answered him, “If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with Me.”
9 Simon Peter said unto Him, “Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head.”
10 Jesus said to him, “He that is washed needeth not but to wash his feet, but is clean every whit. And ye are clean, but not all.”
11 (For He knew who would betray Him; therefore He said, “Ye are not all clean.”)
12 So after He had washed their feet and had taken His garments and had sat down again, He said unto them, “Know ye what I have done to you?
13 Ye call Me Master and Lord; and ye say well, for so I am.
14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet, ye also ought to wash one another’s feet.
15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.
16 Verily, verily I say unto you, the servant is not greater than his lord, neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.
17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.
