问安

¹我^[a]这做长老的，

致蒙拣选的夫人^[b]和她的儿女：

你们^[c]就是我在真理中所爱的，不单是我，也是所有认识真理的人所爱的， ²因为真理住在我们里面，也将与我们同在，直到永远。

³从父神和父的儿子耶稣基督^[d]而来的恩典、怜悯、平安，在真理和爱中，将与我们同在。

真理与欺骗

⁴我极其欢喜，因为我看见你的儿女当中有人照着我们从父所领受的命令，在真理中行事^[e]。 ⁵夫人^[f]哪，现在我请求你：让我们大家^[g]彼此相爱；我写给你的，不是一条新命令，而是我们从起初就有的命令。 ⁶我们要按照他的命令行事^[h]，这就是爱；你们要照着你们从起初所听见的在其中行事^[i]，这就是命令。
