Psalm 89:1-4

Psalm 89

A Contemplative Maskil of Ethan the Ezrahite.

I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever;
    with my mouth I will make known Your faithfulness to all generations.
For I have said, “Mercy shall be built up forever;
    Your faithfulness shall be established in the heavens.”
You have said, “I have made a covenant with my chosen one;
    I have sworn to David my servant:
‘Your offspring I will establish forever,
    and build up your throne for all generations.’ ” Selah

Psalm 89:15-18

15 Blessed are the people who know the joyful shout.
    They walk, O Lord, in the light of Your presence.
16 In Your name they rejoice all the day,
    and in Your righteousness they shall be exalted.
17 For You are the beauty of their strength;
    by Your favor our horn is exalted.
18 For the Lord is our shield of defense,
    and the Holy One of Israel is our king.

Jeremiah 28:1-4

The False Prophet Hananiah

28 In that same year, at the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the fourth year and in the fifth month, Hananiah the son of Azzur, the prophet, who was from Gibeon, spoke to me in the house of the Lord in the presence of the priests and of all the people, saying, “Thus says the Lord of Hosts, the God of Israel: I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon. Within two full years I will bring back into this place all the vessels of the house of the Lord that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took away from this place and carried to Babylon. And I will bring back to this place Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, with all the captives of Judah who went into Babylon, says the Lord, for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.”

Luke 17:1-4

Some Sayings of Jesus(A)

17 Then He said to the disciples, “It is impossible except that offenses will come. But woe to him through whom they come! It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he was thrown into the sea, than to offend one of these little ones. Take heed to yourselves.

“If your brother sins against you, rebuke him. And if he repents, forgive him. If he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turns to you, saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him.”
