Version
Psalm 22:19-28

19 But You, O Yahweh, (A)be not far off;
O my Strength, (B)hasten to my help.
20 Deliver my [a]soul from (C)the sword,
My (D)only life from the [b]power of the dog.
21 Save me from the mouth of the (E)lion;
From the horns of the (F)wild oxen You (G)have answered me.

22 I will surely (H)recount Your name to my brothers;
In the midst of the assembly I will praise You.
23 (I)You who fear Yahweh, praise Him;
All you seed of Jacob, (J)glorify Him,
And (K)stand in awe of Him, all you seed of Israel.
24 For He has (L)not despised and He has not abhorred the affliction of the afflicted;
And He has not (M)hidden His face from him;
But (N)when he cried to Him for help, He heard.

25 Of You is (O)my praise in the great assembly;
I shall (P)pay my vows before those who fear Him.
26 The [c]afflicted will eat and (Q)be satisfied;
Those who seek Him will (R)praise Yahweh.
May your (S)heart live forever!
27 All the (T)ends of the earth will remember and turn to Yahweh,
And all the (U)families of the nations will worship before [d]You.
28 For the (V)kingdom is Yahweh’s
And He (W)rules over the nations.

Isaiah 56:9-12

All you (A)beasts of the field,
All you beasts in the forest,
Come to eat.
10 His (B)watchmen are (C)blind;
All of them know nothing.
All of them are mute dogs unable to bark,
[a]Dreamers lying down, who love to slumber;
11 And the dogs have a (D)strong [b]appetite; they do not know satisfaction.
And they are shepherds who (E)do not know understanding;
They have all (F)turned to their own way,
Each one to his greedy gain, to the last one.
12 “Come,” they say, “let [c]us take (G)wine, and let us drink heavily of strong drink;
And (H)tomorrow will be like today—[d]beyond exceedingly great.”

Romans 2:17-29

The Jew Is Judged by the Law

17 But if you bear the name “Jew” and (A)rely [a]upon the Law and boast in God, 18 and know His will and [b](B)approve the things that are essential, being instructed out of the Law, 19 and are confident that you yourself are a guide to the blind, a light to those who are in darkness, 20 a [c]corrector of the foolish, a teacher of [d]the immature, having in the Law (C)the embodiment of knowledge and of the truth, 21 you, therefore, (D)who teach another, do you not teach yourself? You who [e]preach that one shall not steal, do you steal? 22 You who say that one should not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you (E)rob temples? 23 You who (F)boast [f]in the Law, through your transgression of the Law, do you dishonor God? 24 For “(G)the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles (H)because of you,” just as it is written.

25 For indeed circumcision is of value if you (I)practice [g]the Law, but if you are a transgressor [h]of the Law, (J)your circumcision has become uncircumcision. 26 (K)So if (L)the [i]uncircumcised man (M)observes the righteous requirements of the Law, will not his uncircumcision be counted as circumcision? 27 And (N)he who is physically uncircumcised, if he [j]fulfills the Law, will he not (O)judge you who, through the letter of the Law and circumcision, are a transgressor [k]of the Law? 28 For (P)he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh. 29 But (Q)he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and (R)circumcision is that which is of the heart, by the (S)Spirit, not by the letter; (T)and his praise is not from men, but from God.
