A Prayer for Victory for the King

The People’s Prayer
1 May the Lord answer you in the day of distress.
May the name of the God of Jacob lift you up.
2 May he send you help from the holy place.
May he support you from Zion.
3 May he remember all your sacrificial gifts. Interlude
May he accept your burnt offerings.
4 May he give you whatever your heart desires.
May he fulfill all your plans.
5 We will shout joyfully when God saves you.
In the name of our God we will lift up our banners.
May the Lord fulfill all your prayers.
The King’s Response
6 Now I know that the Lord saves his Anointed.[a]
He answers him from his holy heavens
with powerful acts of salvation from his right hand.
The People’s Prayer
7 Some rely on chariots, and some on horses,
but we rely on the name of the Lord our God.
8 They are brought to their knees and fall,
but we rise up and stand firm.
9 Lord, save the king! Answer us in the day we call!
Dedication of the Dwelling
40 The Lord spoke to Moses. He said, 2 “On the first day of the first month you are to raise up the Dwelling, the Tent of Meeting. 3 Put the Ark of the Testimony in it, and screen the ark with the veil. 4 Bring in the table, and set in order the things that are to be on it. Bring in the lampstand, and light its lamps. 5 Set the golden[a] altar for incense in front of the Ark of the Testimony, and put the screen in the doorway to the tent. 6 Set the altar for burnt offerings in front of the entrance of the Dwelling, the Tent of Meeting. 7 Set the basin between the Tent of Meeting and the altar, and put water in it. 8 Set up the courtyard around it, and hang up the screen of the gate of the courtyard. 9 Take the anointing oil, and anoint the tent and everything that is in it. You shall make it and all its furniture holy, and it will be holy. 10 Anoint the altar for burnt offerings with all its utensils. Consecrate the altar, and the altar will be most holy. 11 Anoint the large basin and its pedestal, and consecrate it.
12 Bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance of the Tent of Meeting, and wash them with water. 13 Put the holy garments on Aaron, and anoint him and consecrate him, so that he may minister to me in the priest’s office. 14 Bring his sons and put tunics on them. 15 Anoint them, as you anointed their father, so that they may minister to me in the priest’s office. Their anointing will give them a permanent priesthood throughout their generations.”
Confidence Through Christ
19 Brothers,[a] we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place through the blood of Jesus. 20 It is a new and living way he opened for us through the curtain, that is, his flesh. 21 We also have a great priest over the house of God. 22 So let us approach with a sincere heart, in the full confidence of faith, because our hearts have been sprinkled to take away a bad conscience, and our bodies have been washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold on firmly to the confession of our hope without wavering, since he who promised is faithful.
Do Not Keep On Sinning
24 Let us also consider carefully how to spur each other on to love and good works. 25 Let us not neglect meeting together, as some have the habit of doing. Rather, let us encourage each other, and all the more as you see the Day[b] approaching.
