Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
God Implored to Rescue His People from Their Calamities.
For the choir director; set to [a]El Shoshannim; [b]Eduth. A Psalm of Asaph.
80 Oh, give ear, (A)Shepherd of Israel,
You who lead (B)Joseph like a flock;
You who (C)are enthroned above the cherubim, shine forth!
2 Before (D)Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh, (E)stir up Your power
And come to save us!
3 O God, (F)restore us
And (G)cause Your face to shine upon us, [c]and we will be saved.
4 O (H)Lord God of hosts,
(I)How long will You [d]be angry with the prayer of Your people?
5 You have fed them with the (J)bread of tears,
And You have made them to drink tears in [e]large measure.
6 You make us [f]an object of contention (K)to our neighbors,
And our enemies laugh among themselves.
7 O God of hosts, restore us
And cause Your face to shine upon us, [g]and we will be saved.
31 “(A)Behold, days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will make a (B)new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, 32 not like the (C)covenant which I made with their fathers in the day I (D)took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My (E)covenant which they broke, although I was a husband to them,” declares the Lord. 33 “But (F)this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days,” declares the Lord, “(G)I will put My law within them and on their heart I will write it; and (H)I will be their God, and they shall be My people. 34 They will (I)not teach again, each man his neighbor and each man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they will all (J)know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them,” declares the Lord, “for I will (K)forgive their iniquity, and their (L)sin I will remember no more.”
10 By [a]this will we have been (A)sanctified through (B)the offering of (C)the body of Jesus Christ (D)once for all.
11 Every priest stands daily ministering and (E)offering time after time the same sacrifices, which (F)can never take away sins; 12 but He, having offered one sacrifice (G)for [b]sins (H)for all time, (I)sat down at the right hand of God, 13 waiting from that time onward (J)until His enemies be made a footstool for His feet. 14 For by one offering He has (K)perfected (L)for all time those who are [c]sanctified. 15 And (M)the Holy Spirit also testifies to us; for after saying,
16 “(N)This is the covenant that I will make with them
After those days, says the Lord:
I will put My laws upon their heart,
And on their mind I will write them,”
He then says,
17 “(O)And their sins and their lawless deeds
I will remember no more.”
18 Now where there is forgiveness of these things, there is no longer any offering for sin.
