Version
Psalm 92:1-4

Praise for the Lord’s Goodness.

A Psalm, a Song for the Sabbath day.

92 It is (A)good to give thanks to the Lord
And to (B)sing praises to Your name, O Most High;
To (C)declare Your lovingkindness in the morning
And Your (D)faithfulness [a]by night,
[b]With the (E)ten-stringed lute and [c]with the (F)harp,
[d]With resounding music [e]upon the (G)lyre.
For You, O Lord, have made me glad by [f]what You (H)have done,
I will (I)sing for joy at the (J)works of Your hands.

Psalm 92:12-15

12 The (A)righteous man will [a]flourish like the palm tree,
He will grow like a (B)cedar in Lebanon.
13 (C)Planted in the house of the Lord,
They will flourish (D)in the courts of our God.
14 They will still [b](E)yield fruit in old age;
They shall be [c]full of sap and very green,
15 To [d]declare that (F)the Lord is upright;
He is my (G)rock, and there is (H)no unrighteousness in Him.

1 Kings 10:26-11:8

26 (A)Now Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen; and he had 1,400 chariots and 12,000 horsemen, and he [a]stationed them in the (B)chariot cities and with the king in Jerusalem. 27 (C)The king made silver as common as stones in Jerusalem, and he made cedars as plentiful as sycamore trees that are in the [b]lowland. 28 (D)Also Solomon’s import of horses was from Egypt and Kue, and the king’s merchants procured them from Kue for a price. 29 A chariot [c]was imported from Egypt for 600 shekels of silver, and a horse for 150; and [d]by the same means they exported them (E)to all the kings of the Hittites and to the kings of the Arameans.

Solomon Turns from God

11 Now (F)King Solomon loved many foreign women along with the daughter of Pharaoh: Moabite, Ammonite, Edomite, Sidonian, and Hittite women, from the nations concerning which the Lord had said to the sons of Israel, “(G)You shall not [e]associate with them, nor shall they [f]associate with you, for they will surely turn your heart away after their gods.” Solomon held fast to these in love. (H)He had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines, and his wives turned his heart away. For when Solomon was old, his wives turned his heart away after other gods; and (I)his heart was not [g]wholly devoted to the Lord his God, as the heart of David his father had been. For Solomon went after (J)Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians and after [h](K)Milcom the detestable idol of the Ammonites. Solomon did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, and did not follow the Lord fully, as David his father had done. Then Solomon built a high place for (L)Chemosh the detestable idol of Moab, on the mountain which is [i]east of Jerusalem, and for (M)Molech the detestable idol of the sons of Ammon. Thus also he did for all his foreign wives, who burned incense and sacrificed to their gods.

Hebrews 11:4-7

By faith (A)Abel offered to God a better sacrifice than Cain, through which he (B)obtained the testimony that he was righteous, God testifying [a]about his (C)gifts, and through [b]faith, though (D)he is dead, he still speaks. By faith (E)Enoch was taken up so that he would not (F)see death; and he was not found because God took him up; for he obtained the witness that before his being taken up he was pleasing to God. And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who (G)comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him. By faith (H)Noah, being (I)warned by God about (J)things not yet seen, [c](K)in reverence (L)prepared an ark for the salvation of his household, by which he condemned the world, and became an heir of (M)the righteousness which is according to faith.
