Psalm 119:81-88

Kaph

81 My soul (A)longs for your salvation;
    I (B)hope in your word.
82 My (C)eyes long for your promise;
    I ask, (D)“When will you comfort me?”
83 For I have (E)become like a (F)wineskin in the smoke,
    yet I have not forgotten your statutes.
84 (G)How long must your servant endure?[a]
    (H)When will you judge those who persecute me?
85 (I)The insolent have (J)dug pitfalls for me;
    they do not live according to your law.
86 All your commandments are (K)sure;
    they persecute me (L)with falsehood; (M)help me!
87 They have almost made an end of me on earth,
    but I have not forsaken your precepts.
88 In your steadfast love (N)give me life,
    that I may keep the testimonies of your mouth.

Jeremiah 16:14-21

The Lord Will Restore Israel

14 (A)“Therefore, behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when it shall no longer be said, (B)‘As the Lord lives who brought up the people of Israel out of the land of Egypt,’ 15 but (C)‘As the Lord lives who brought up the people of Israel (D)out of the north country and out of all the countries where he had driven them.’ For (E)I will bring them back to their own land that I gave to their fathers.

16 “Behold, (F)I am sending for many fishers, declares the Lord, and they shall catch them. And afterward I will send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain and every hill, and out (G)of the clefts of the rocks. 17 For (H)my eyes are on all their ways. (I)They are not hidden from me, (J)nor is their iniquity concealed from my eyes. 18 But first (K)I will doubly repay their iniquity and their sin, because they have polluted my land with the carcasses of their detestable idols, and (L)have filled my inheritance with their abominations.”

19 (M)O Lord, my strength and my stronghold,
    (N)my refuge in the day of trouble,
(O)to you shall the nations come
    from the ends of the earth and say:
“Our fathers have inherited nothing but lies,
    (P)worthless things in which there is no profit.
20 Can man make for himself (Q)gods?
    Such are not gods!”

21 “Therefore, behold, I will make them know, this once I will make them know my power and my might, and they shall know that (R)my name is the Lord.”

John 7:1-9

Jesus at the Feast of Booths

After this Jesus went about in Galilee. He would not go about in Judea, because (A)the Jews[a] were seeking to kill him. Now (B)the Jews' Feast of (C)Booths was at hand. (D)So his brothers[b] said to him, “Leave here and go to Judea, that your disciples also may see the works you are doing. For no one works in secret if he seeks to be known openly. If you do these things, (E)show yourself to the world.” (F)For not even (G)his brothers believed in him. Jesus said to them, (H)“My time has not yet come, but your time is always here. The world cannot hate you, but (I)it hates me because I testify about it that (J)its works are evil. You go up to the feast. I am not[c] going up to this feast, for (K)my time has not yet fully come.” After saying this, he remained in Galilee.
