Psalm 52

Futility of Boastful Wickedness.

For the music director. A [a]Maskil of David, [b]when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul and said to him, “David has come to the house of Ahimelech.”

52 Why do you (A)boast in evil, you mighty man?
The (B)faithfulness of God endures all day long.
Your tongue devises (C)destruction,
Like a (D)sharp razor, (E)you worker of deceit.
You (F)love evil more than good,
(G)Lies more than speaking what is right. Selah
You love all words that devour,
You (H)deceitful tongue.

[c]But God will break you down forever;
He will snatch you up and (I)tear you away from your tent,
And (J)uproot you from the (K)land of the living. Selah
The righteous will (L)see and fear,
And they will (M)laugh at him, saying,
“Behold, the man who would not make God his refuge,
But (N)trusted in the abundance of his riches
And (O)was strong in [d]his evil desire.”

But as for me, I am like a (P)green olive tree in the house of God;
I (Q)trust in the faithfulness of God forever and ever.
I will (R)praise You forever, because You have done it,
And I will wait on Your name, (S)for it is good, in the presence of Your godly ones.

Jeremiah 21:11-14

11 “Then say to the household of the (A)king of Judah, ‘Hear the word of the Lord, 12 (B)house of David, this is what the Lord says:

(C)Administer justice [a]every (D)morning;
And save the person who has been robbed from the [b]power of his oppressor,
(E)So that My wrath will not spread like fire
And (F)burn, with no one to extinguish it,
Because of the evil of their deeds.

13 “Behold, (G)I am against you, you inhabitant of the (H)valley,
You [c]rocky plain,” declares the Lord,
“You who say, ‘(I)Who will come down against us?
Or who will enter our dwellings?’
14 But I will punish you (J)according to the [d]results of your deeds,” declares the Lord,
“And I will (K)kindle a fire in its forest
So that it may devour all its surroundings.”’”

Revelation 21:22-22:5

22 I saw (A)no [a]temple in it, for the (B)Lord God the Almighty and the (C)Lamb are its [b]temple. 23 And the city (D)has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine on it, for (E)the glory of God has illuminated it, and its lamp is the (F)Lamb. 24 (G)The nations will walk by its light, and the (H)kings of the earth [c]will bring their glory into it. 25 In the daytime (for (I)there will be no night there) (J)its gates (K)will never be closed; 26 and (L)they will bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it; 27 and (M)nothing unclean, and no one who practices abomination and lying, shall ever come into it, but only those [d]whose names are (N)written in the Lamb’s book of life.

The River and the Tree of Life

22 And (O)he showed me a (P)river of the (Q)water of life, [e]clear (R)as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of [f]the Lamb, in the middle of (S)its street. (T)On either side of the river was (U)the tree of life, bearing twelve [g]kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. (V)There will no longer be any curse; and (W)the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and His bond-servants will (X)serve Him; they will (Y)see His face, and His (Z)name will be on their (AA)foreheads. And (AB)there will no longer be any night; and they [h]will not have need (AC)of the light of a lamp nor the light of the sun, because the Lord God will illuminate them; and they will (AD)reign forever and ever.
