Psalm 33:12-22

12 (A)Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
    the people whom he has (B)chosen as his heritage!

13 The Lord (C)looks down from heaven;
    he sees all the children of man;
14 from (D)where he sits enthroned he (E)looks out
    on all the inhabitants of the earth,
15 he who fashions the hearts of them all
    and observes all their deeds.
16 (F)The king is not saved by his great army;
    a warrior is not delivered by his great strength.
17 (G)The war horse is a false hope for salvation,
    and by its great might it cannot rescue.

18 Behold, (H)the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him,
    (I)on those who hope in his steadfast love,
19 that he may (J)deliver their soul from death
    and keep them alive in (K)famine.

20 Our soul (L)waits for the Lord;
    he is our (M)help and (N)our shield.
21 For our heart is (O)glad in him,
    because we (P)trust in his holy name.
22 Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us,
    even as we hope in you.

Exodus 15:6-11

(A)Your right hand, O Lord, glorious in power,
    your right hand, O Lord, (B)shatters the enemy.
In the (C)greatness of your majesty you overthrow your adversaries;
    you send out your fury; it (D)consumes them like stubble.
At the (E)blast of your nostrils the waters piled up;
    the (F)floods stood up in a heap;
    the deeps congealed in the heart of the sea.
The enemy said, (G)‘I will pursue, I will overtake,
    I (H)will divide the spoil, my desire shall have its fill of them.
    I will draw my sword; my hand shall destroy them.’
10 You (I)blew with your wind; the (J)sea covered them;
    they sank like lead in the mighty waters.

11 (K)“Who is like you, O Lord, among the gods?
    Who is like you, majestic in holiness,
    awesome in (L)glorious deeds, (M)doing wonders?

John 7:37-39

Rivers of Living Water

37 (A)On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, (B)“If anyone thirsts, let him (C)come to me and drink. 38 Whoever believes in me, (D)as[a] the Scripture has said, (E)‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of (F)living water.’” 39 Now (G)this he said about the Spirit, (H)whom those who believed in him were to receive, (I)for as yet the Spirit had not been (J)given, (K)because Jesus was not yet glorified.
