Psalm 95

A Call to Worship and Obedience

95 Oh come, let us sing to the Lord!
Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving;
Let us shout joyfully to Him with (A)psalms.
For (B)the Lord is the great God,
And the great King above all gods.
[a]In His hand are the deep places of the earth;
The heights of the hills are His also.
(C)The sea is His, for He made it;
And His hands formed the dry land.

Oh come, let us worship and bow down;
Let (D)us kneel before the Lord our Maker.
For He is our God,
And (E)we are the people of His pasture,
And the sheep [b]of His hand.

(F)Today, if you will hear His voice:
“Do not harden your hearts, as in the [c]rebellion,
(G)As in the day of [d]trial in the wilderness,
When (H)your fathers tested Me;
They tried Me, though they (I)saw My work.
10 For (J)forty years I was [e]grieved with that generation,
And said, ‘It is a people who go astray in their hearts,
And they do not know My ways.’
11 So (K)I swore in My wrath,
‘They shall not enter My rest.’ ”

Micah 7:8-20

Israel’s Confession and Comfort

(A)Do not rejoice over me, my enemy;
(B)When I fall, I will arise;
When I sit in darkness,
The Lord will be a light to me.
(C)I will bear the indignation of the Lord,
Because I have sinned against Him,
Until He pleads my (D)case
And executes justice for me.
He will bring me forth to the light;
I will see His righteousness.
10 Then she who is my enemy will see,
And (E)shame will cover her who said to me,
(F)“Where is the Lord your God?”
My eyes will see her;
Now she will be trampled down
Like mud in the streets.

11 In the day when your (G)walls are to be built,
In that day [a]the decree shall go far and wide.
12 In that day (H)they[b] shall come to you
From Assyria and the [c]fortified cities,
From the [d]fortress to [e]the River,
From sea to sea,
And mountain to mountain.
13 Yet the land shall be desolate
Because of those who dwell in it,
And (I)for the fruit of their deeds.

God Will Forgive Israel

14 Shepherd Your people with Your staff,
The flock of Your heritage,
Who dwell [f]solitarily in a (J)woodland,
In the midst of Carmel;
Let them feed in Bashan and Gilead,
As in days of old.

15 “As(K) in the days when you came out of the land of Egypt,
I will show [g]them (L)wonders.”

16 The nations (M)shall see and be ashamed of all their might;
(N)They shall put their hand over their mouth;
Their ears shall be deaf.
17 They shall lick the (O)dust like a serpent;
(P)They shall crawl from their holes like [h]snakes of the earth.
(Q)They shall be afraid of the Lord our God,
And shall fear because of You.
18 (R)Who is a God like You,
(S)Pardoning iniquity
And passing over the transgression of (T)the remnant of His heritage?

(U)He does not retain His anger forever,
Because He delights in (V)mercy.[i]
19 He will again have compassion on us,
And will subdue our iniquities.

You will cast all [j]our sins
Into the depths of the sea.
20 (W)You will give truth to Jacob
And [k]mercy to Abraham,
(X)Which You have sworn to our fathers
From days of old.

Mark 14:26-31

26 (A)And when they had sung [a]a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

Jesus Predicts Peter’s Denial(B)

27 (C)Then Jesus said to them, “All of you will be made to stumble [b]because of Me this night, for it is written:

(D)‘I will strike the Shepherd,
And the sheep will be scattered.’

28 “But (E)after I have been raised, I will go before you to Galilee.”

29 (F)Peter said to Him, “Even if all are made to [c]stumble, yet I will not be.

30 Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you that today, even this night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny Me three times.”

31 But he spoke more vehemently, “If I have to die with You, I will not deny You!”

And they all said likewise.
