Psalm 25:1-10

Teach Me Your Paths

[a] Of David.

25 To you, O Lord, I (A)lift up my soul.
O my God, in you I (B)trust;
    (C)let me not be put to shame;
    (D)let not my enemies exult over me.
Indeed, (E)none who wait for you shall be put to shame;
    they shall be ashamed who are (F)wantonly (G)treacherous.

(H)Make me to know your ways, O Lord;
    teach me your paths.
Lead me in your (I)truth and teach me,
    for you are the God of my salvation;
    for you I wait all the day long.

Remember your (J)mercy, O Lord, and your steadfast love,
    (K)for they have been from of old.
Remember not (L)the sins of my youth or my transgressions;
    according to your (M)steadfast love remember me,
    for the sake of your goodness, O Lord!

(N)Good and upright is the Lord;
    therefore he (O)instructs sinners in the way.
He leads the humble in what is right,
    and teaches the humble his way.
10 All the paths of the Lord are (P)steadfast love and faithfulness,
    for those who keep his covenant and his testimonies.

Daniel 9:15-25

15 And now, O Lord our God, who brought your people out of the land of Egypt (A)with a mighty hand, and (B)have made a name for yourself, as at this day, (C)we have sinned, we have done wickedly.

16 “O Lord, (D)according to all your righteous acts, let your anger and your wrath turn away from your city Jerusalem, (E)your holy hill, (F)because for our sins, and for (G)the iniquities of our fathers, (H)Jerusalem and your people have become (I)a byword among all who are around us. 17 Now therefore, O our God, listen to the prayer of your servant and to his pleas for mercy, and for your own sake, O Lord,[a] (J)make your face to shine upon (K)your sanctuary, which is desolate. 18 (L)O my God, incline your ear and hear. Open your eyes and see (M)our desolations, and (N)the city that is called by your name. For we do not present our pleas before you because of our righteousness, but because of your great mercy. 19 O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive. O Lord, pay attention and act. (O)Delay not, (P)for your own sake, O my God, because (Q)your city and (R)your people are called by your name.”

Gabriel Brings an Answer

20 (S)While I was speaking and praying, confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my plea before the Lord my God for (T)the holy hill of my God, 21 while I was speaking in prayer, the man (U)Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the first, (V)came to me in swift flight at (W)the time of the evening sacrifice. 22 (X)He made me understand, speaking with me and saying, “O Daniel, I have now come out to give you (Y)insight and understanding. 23 (Z)At the beginning of your pleas for mercy a word went out, (AA)and I have come to tell it to you, for (AB)you are greatly loved. Therefore consider the word (AC)and understand the vision.

The Seventy Weeks

24 (AD)“Seventy weeks[b] are decreed about your people and (AE)your holy city, to finish (AF)the transgression, to put an end to sin, (AG)and to atone for iniquity, (AH)to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal both vision and prophet, and (AI)to anoint a most holy place.[c] 25 (AJ)Know therefore and understand that (AK)from the going out of the word to restore and (AL)build Jerusalem to the coming of an (AM)anointed one, a (AN)prince, there shall be seven weeks. Then for sixty-two weeks it shall be built again[d] with squares and moat, (AO)but in a troubled time.

2 Timothy 4:1-5

Preach the Word

(A)I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, (B)who is to judge the living and the dead, and by (C)his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; (D)reprove, rebuke, and (E)exhort, with complete patience and teaching. (F)For the time is coming when people will not endure (G)sound[a] teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and (H)will turn away from listening to the truth and (I)wander off into myths. As for you, (J)always be sober-minded, (K)endure suffering, do the work of (L)an evangelist, (M)fulfill your ministry.
