Psalm 46

God, the Refuge of His People.

For the music director. A Psalm of the sons of Korah, [a]set to Alamoth. A Song.

46 God is our (A)refuge and strength,
A [b]very (B)ready help (C)in [c]trouble.
Therefore we will (D)not fear, though (E)the earth shakes
And (F)the mountains slip into the heart of the [d]sea;
Though its (G)waters roar and foam,
Though the mountains quake at its swelling pride. Selah

There is a (H)river whose streams make the (I)city of God happy,
The holy (J)dwelling places of the Most High.
God is (K)in the midst of her, she will not be moved;
God will (L)help her [e]when morning dawns.
The [f]nations (M)made an uproar, the kingdoms tottered;
He [g](N)raised His voice, the earth (O)quaked.
The Lord of armies (P)is with us;
The God of Jacob is (Q)our stronghold. Selah

Come, (R)behold the works of the Lord,
[h]Who has inflicted (S)horrific events on the earth.
He (T)makes wars to cease to the end of the earth;
He (U)breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two;
He (V)burns the chariots with fire.
10 [i]Stop striving and (W)know that I am God;
I will be (X)exalted among the [j]nations, I will be exalted on the earth.”
11 The Lord of armies is with us;
The God of Jacob is our stronghold. Selah

2 Chronicles 18:12-22

Micaiah Brings Word from God

12 Then the messenger who went to summon Micaiah spoke to him saying, “Behold, the words of the prophets are [a]unanimously favorable to the king. So please let your word be like one of them, and speak favorably.” 13 But Micaiah said, “As the Lord lives, (A)whatever my God says, I will speak it.”

14 When he came to the king, the king said to him, “Micaiah, should we go to battle against Ramoth-gilead, or should I refrain?” He said, “Go up and succeed, for they will be handed over to you!” 15 Then the king said to him, “How many times must I make you swear that you will tell me nothing but the truth in the name of the Lord?” 16 So he said,

“I saw all Israel
Scattered on the mountains,
(B)Like sheep that have no shepherd.
And the Lord said,
‘These people have no master.
Each of them is to return to his house in peace.’”

17 Then the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “Did I not tell you that he would not prophesy anything good regarding me, but only bad?”

18 And Micaiah said, “Therefore, hear the word of the Lord. (C)I saw the Lord sitting on His throne, and all the [b]angels of heaven standing on His right and on His left. 19 And the Lord said, ‘Who will [c]entice Ahab king of Israel to go up and fall at Ramoth-gilead?’ And one spirit said this, while another said that. 20 Then a (D)spirit came forward and stood before the Lord and said, ‘I will [d]entice him.’ And the Lord said to him, ‘How?’ 21 He said, ‘I will go out and be (E)a deceiving spirit in the mouths of all his prophets.’ Then He said, ‘You shall [e]entice him, and you will also prevail. Go out and do so.’ 22 Now therefore, behold, (F)the Lord has put a deceiving spirit in the mouths of these prophets of yours, for the Lord has declared disaster against you.”

Hebrews 9:23-28

23 Therefore it was necessary for the (A)copies of the things in the heavens to be cleansed with these things, but (B)the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. 24 For Christ (C)did not enter a holy place made by hands, a mere copy of (D)the true one, but into (E)heaven itself, now (F)to appear in the presence of God for us; 25 nor was it that He would offer Himself often, as (G)the high priest enters (H)the Holy Place (I)year by year with blood that is not his own. 26 Otherwise, He would have needed to suffer often since (J)the foundation of the world; but now (K)once at (L)the consummation of the ages He has been (M)revealed to put away sin [a](N)by the sacrifice of Himself. 27 And just as (O)it is destined for people to die once, and after this (P)comes judgment, 28 so Christ also, having been (Q)offered once to (R)bear the sins of many, will appear (S)a second time for (T)salvation (U)without reference to sin, to those who (V)eagerly await Him.
