Psalm 61

Lead Me to the Rock

To the choirmaster: with (A)stringed instruments. Of David.

61 Hear my cry, O God,
    (B)listen to my prayer;
from the end of the earth I call to you
    when my heart is (C)faint.
Lead me to (D)the rock
    that is higher than I,
for you have been (E)my refuge,
    a strong (F)tower against the enemy.
Let me (G)dwell in your tent for ever!
    Let me take refuge under (H)the shelter of your wings! Selah
For you, O God, have heard my vows;
    you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.
(I)Prolong (J)the life of the king;
    may his years endure to all generations!
May he be enthroned for ever before God;
    appoint (K)steadfast love and faithfulness to watch over him!
So will I ever sing praises to your name,
    as I (L)perform my vows day after day.

2 Kings 15:1-7

Azariah Reigns in Judah

15 (A)In the twenty-seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel, (B)Azariah the son of Amaziah, king of Judah, began to reign. He was (C)sixteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned for fifty-two years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Jecoliah of Jerusalem. And he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, according to all that his father Amaziah had done. (D)Nevertheless, the high places were not taken away. The people still sacrificed and made offerings on the high places. (E)And the Lord touched the king, so that he was a leper[a] to the day of his death, (F)and he lived in a separate house.[b] And Jotham the king's son was over the household, governing the people of the land. Now the rest of the acts of Azariah, and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? And Azariah slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers (G)in the city of David, and Jotham his son reigned in his place.

Matthew 10:5-15

Jesus Sends Out the Twelve Apostles

(A)These twelve Jesus sent out, instructing them, “Go nowhere among the Gentiles and enter no town of (B)the Samaritans, (C)but go rather to (D)the lost sheep of (E)the house of Israel. And proclaim as you go, saying, (F)‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ (G)Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers,[a] cast out demons. (H)You received without paying; give without pay. (I)Acquire no gold nor silver nor copper for your belts, 10 no bag for your journey, nor two tunics[b] nor sandals nor a staff, for (J)the labourer deserves his food. 11 And whatever town or village you enter, find out who is worthy in it and stay there until you depart. 12 As you enter the house, (K)greet it. 13 And if the house is (L)worthy, let (M)your peace come upon it, but if it is not worthy, let (N)your peace return to you. 14 And if anyone will not receive you or listen to your words, (O)shake off the dust from your feet when you leave that house or town. 15 Truly, I say to you, (P)it will be more bearable on the day of judgement for (Q)the land of Sodom and Gomorrah than for that town.
