Psalm 29

The Voice of the Lord in the Storm.

A Psalm of David.

29 (A)Ascribe to the Lord, [a]sons of the mighty,
Ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
Ascribe to the Lord the glory [b]due His name;
Worship the Lord (B)in holy attire.

The (C)voice of the Lord is on the waters;
The God of glory (D)thunders,
The Lord is over [c](E)many waters.
The voice of the Lord is (F)powerful,
The voice of the Lord is majestic.
The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars;
Yes, the Lord breaks (G)the cedars of Lebanon in pieces.
He makes Lebanon (H)skip like a calf,
And (I)Sirion like a young wild ox.
The voice of the Lord divides [d]flames of fire.
The voice of the Lord [e]shakes the wilderness;
The Lord shakes the wilderness of (J)Kadesh.
The voice of the Lord makes (K)the deer give birth
And strips the forests bare;
And (L)in His temple everything says, “Glory!”

10 The Lord sat as King at the (M)flood;
Yes, the Lord sits as (N)King forever.
11 [f]The Lord will give (O)strength to His people;
[g]The Lord will bless His people with (P)peace.

Ezekiel 3:12-21

12 Then the (A)Spirit lifted me up, and I heard a great (B)rumbling sound behind me: “Blessed be the glory of the Lord from His place!” 13 And I heard the sound of the wings of the living beings touching one another and the sound of the (C)wheels beside them, even a great rumbling sound. 14 So the Spirit lifted me up and took me away; and I went embittered in the rage of my spirit, and (D)the hand of the Lord was strong on me. 15 Then I came to the exiles who lived beside the river Chebar at Tel-abib, and I sat there for (E)seven days where they were living, causing consternation among them.

16 Now (F)at the end of seven days the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 17 “Son of man, I have appointed you as a (G)watchman for the house of Israel; whenever you hear a word from My mouth, (H)warn them from Me. 18 When I say to the wicked, ‘You will certainly die,’ and you do not warn him or speak out to warn the wicked from his wicked way so that he may live, that wicked person shall die for wrongdoing, but his (I)blood I will require from your hand. 19 However if you have (J)warned the wicked and he does not turn from his wickedness or from his wicked way, he shall die for wrongdoing, but you have (K)saved yourself. 20 Again, (L)when a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and commits sin, and I place an (M)obstacle before him, he will die; since you have not warned him, he shall die in his sin, and his righteous deeds which he has done shall not be remembered; but his blood I will require from your hand. 21 However, if you have (N)warned [a]the righteous person that the righteous is not to sin, and he does not sin, he shall certainly live because he took warning; and you have saved yourself.”

Luke 9:18-27

Peter Says Jesus is The Christ

18 (A)And it happened that while He was (B)praying alone, the disciples were with Him, and He questioned them, saying, “Who do the [a]people say that I am?” 19 They answered and said, “John the Baptist, and others say Elijah; but others, that one of the prophets of old has risen.” 20 And He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” And Peter answered and said, “(C)The [b]Christ of God.” 21 But He [c](D)warned them and instructed them not to tell this to anyone, 22 (E)saying, (F)The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed and be raised on the third day.”

23 And He was saying to them all, (G)If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow Me. 24 For (H)whoever wants to save his [d]life will lose it, but whoever loses his [e]life for My sake, this is the one who will save it. 25 For what good does it do a person if he gains the whole world, but (I)loses or forfeits himself? 26 (J)For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when He comes in His glory and the glory of the Father and the holy angels. 27 But I say to you truthfully, (K)there are some of those standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God.”
