New International Version (NIV)
Version
Psalm 31:9-16

Be merciful to me, Lord, for I am in distress;(A)
    my eyes grow weak with sorrow,(B)
    my soul and body(C) with grief.
10 My life is consumed by anguish(D)
    and my years by groaning;(E)
my strength fails(F) because of my affliction,[a](G)
    and my bones grow weak.(H)
11 Because of all my enemies,(I)
    I am the utter contempt(J) of my neighbors(K)
and an object of dread to my closest friends—
    those who see me on the street flee from me.
12 I am forgotten as though I were dead;(L)
    I have become like broken pottery.
13 For I hear many whispering,(M)
    “Terror on every side!”(N)
They conspire against me(O)
    and plot to take my life.(P)

14 But I trust(Q) in you, Lord;
    I say, “You are my God.”
15 My times(R) are in your hands;
    deliver me from the hands of my enemies,
    from those who pursue me.
16 Let your face shine(S) on your servant;
    save me in your unfailing love.(T)

Isaiah 54:9-10

“To me this is like the days of Noah,
    when I swore that the waters of Noah would never again cover the earth.(A)
So now I have sworn(B) not to be angry(C) with you,
    never to rebuke(D) you again.
10 Though the mountains be shaken(E)
    and the hills be removed,
yet my unfailing love(F) for you will not be shaken(G)
    nor my covenant(H) of peace(I) be removed,”
    says the Lord, who has compassion(J) on you.

Hebrews 2:10-18

10 In bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists,(A) should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through what he suffered.(B) 11 Both the one who makes people holy(C) and those who are made holy(D) are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters.[a](E) 12 He says,

“I will declare your name to my brothers and sisters;
    in the assembly I will sing your praises.”[b](F)

13 And again,

“I will put my trust in him.”[c](G)

And again he says,

“Here am I, and the children God has given me.”[d](H)

14 Since the children have flesh and blood,(I) he too shared in their humanity(J) so that by his death he might break the power(K) of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil(L) 15 and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear(M) of death. 16 For surely it is not angels he helps, but Abraham’s descendants.(N) 17 For this reason he had to be made like them,[e](O) fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful(P) and faithful high priest(Q) in service to God,(R) and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people.(S) 18 Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.(T)
