Good News Translation (GNT)
Version
Psalm 98

God the Ruler of the World[a]

98 Sing a new song to the Lord;
    he has done wonderful things!
By his own power and holy strength
    he has won the victory.
The Lord announced his victory;
    he made his saving power known to the nations.
He kept his promise to the people of Israel
    with loyalty and constant love for them.
All people everywhere have seen the victory of our God.

Sing for joy to the Lord, all the earth;
    praise him with songs and shouts of joy!
Sing praises to the Lord!
    Play music on the harps!
Blow trumpets and horns,
    and shout for joy to the Lord, our king.

Roar, sea, and every creature in you;
    sing, earth, and all who live on you!
Clap your hands, you rivers;
    you hills, sing together with joy before the Lord,
    because he comes to rule the earth.
He will rule the peoples of the world
    with justice and fairness.

Deuteronomy 32:44-47

44 Moses and Joshua son of Nun recited this song, so that the people of Israel could hear it.

Moses' Final Instructions

45 When Moses had finished giving God's teachings to the people, 46 he said, “Be sure to obey all these commands that I have given you today. Repeat them to your children, so that they may faithfully obey all of God's teachings. 47 These teachings are not empty words; they are your very life. Obey them and you will live long in that land across the Jordan that you are about to occupy.”

Mark 10:42-45

42 (A)So Jesus called them all together to him and said, “You know that those who are considered rulers of the heathen have power over them, and the leaders have complete authority. 43 (B)This, however, is not the way it is among you. If one of you wants to be great, you must be the servant of the rest; 44 and if one of you wants to be first, you must be the slave of all. 45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served; he came to serve and to give his life to redeem many people.”
