Psalm 103:1-13

Praise for God’s Love

103 Praise the Lord, O my soul. And all that is within me, praise His holy name. Praise the Lord, O my soul. And forget none of His acts of kindness. He forgives all my sins. He heals all my diseases. He saves my life from the grave. He crowns me with loving-kindness and pity. He fills my years with good things and I am made young again like the eagle.

The Lord does what is right and fair for all who suffer under a bad power. He made His ways known to Moses and His acts to the people of Israel. The Lord is full of loving-pity and kindness. He is slow to anger and has much loving-kindness. He will not always keep after us. And He will not keep His anger back forever. 10 He has not punished us enough for all our sins. He has not paid us back for all our wrong-doings. 11 For His loving-kindness for those who fear Him is as great as the heavens are high above the earth. 12 He has taken our sins from us as far as the east is from the west. 13 The Lord has loving-pity on those who fear Him, as a father has loving-pity on his children.

Psalm 103:22

22 Praise the Lord, all His works in all places under His rule. Praise the Lord, O my soul!

Ezekiel 16:53-63

53 “I will return them to their land, both Sodom and her daughters, and Samaria and her daughters. With them I will return you to your land. 54 This is so you will take your shame upon you, and feel ashamed for all that you have done in becoming a comfort to them. 55 Your sisters, Sodom with her daughters and Samaria with her daughters, will return to the land they had before. And you with your daughters will return to your land also. 56 You did not speak against your sister Sodom in the days of your pride, 57 before your sinful acts were seen. Now you have become like her, an object of shame for the daughters of Edom and all her neighbors, and for the daughters of the Philistines. All those around you who hate you now look on you with shame. 58 The penalty of your sex sins and other hated sins has come upon you,” says the Lord. 59 For the Lord God says, “I will do with you as you have done, because you have hated your promise by breaking the agreement.

An Agreement That Lasts Forever

60 “But I will remember My agreement which I made with you when you were young. And I will make an agreement with you that lasts forever. 61 Then you will remember your ways and be ashamed when you receive your sisters, both your older one and younger one. I will give them to you as daughters, but not because of your agreement with Me. 62 So I will make My agreement with you, and you will know that I am the Lord. 63 Then you will remember and be ashamed. You will never open your mouth again because of your shame, when I have forgiven you for all that you have done,” says the Lord God.

John 7:53-8:11

53 *Then everyone went home.

Jesus Speaks to the Teachers of the Law and the Proud Religious Law-Keepers

(*Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. Early in the morning He went back to the house of God and all the people came to Him. He sat down and taught them.

The teachers of the Law and the proud religious law-keepers came to Him. They brought a woman who had been caught doing a sex sin. They made her stand in front of them all. Then they said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of doing a sex sin. Moses told us in the Law to throw stones and kill a woman like this. What do You say about it?”

They were trying to set a trap to find something against Him. Jesus got down and began to write in the dust with His finger. They kept on asking Him. Then He stood up and said, “Anyone of you who is without sin can throw the first stone at her.” Again He got down and wrote in the dust. When they heard what He said, they went away one by one, beginning with the older ones until they were all gone. Then Jesus was left alone with the woman.

10 Jesus stood up and said to her, “Woman, where are those who spoke against you? Has no man said you are guilty?” 11 She said, “No one, Sir.” Jesus said to her, “Neither do I say you are guilty. Go on your way and do not sin again.”)
