² For departing out of Raphidim, and coming to the desert of Sinai, they camped in the same place, and there Israel pitched their tents over against the mountain.

³ And Moses went up to God: and the Lord called unto him from the mountain, and said: Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel:

⁴ You have seen what I have done to the Egyptians, how I have carried you upon the wings of eagles, and have taken you to myself.

⁵ If therefore you will hear my voice, and keep my covenant, you shall be my peculiar possession above all people: for all the earth is mine.

⁶ And you shall be to me a priestly kingdom, and a holy nation. Those are the words thou shalt speak to the children of Israel.

⁷ Moses came, and calling together the elders of the people, he declared all the words which the Lord had commanded.

⁸ And all the people answered together: All that the Lord hath spoken, we will do. And when Moses had related the people's words to the Lord,

100 A psalm for David himself. Mercy and judgment I will sing to thee, O Lord: I will sing,

² And I will understand in the unspotted way, when thou shalt come to me. I walked in the innocence of my heart, in the midst of my house.

³ I did not set before my eyes any unjust thing: I hated the workers of iniquities.

⁴ The perverse heart did not cleave to me: and the malignant, that turned aside from me, I would not know.

⁵ The man that in private detracted his neighbour, him did I persecute. With him that had a proud eye, and an unsatiable heart, I would not eat.

⁶ My eyes were upon the faithful of the earth, to sit with me: the man that walked in the perfect way, he served me.

⁷ He that worketh pride shall not dwell in the midst of my house: he that speaketh unjust things did not prosper before my eyes.

⁸ In the morning I put to death all the wicked of the land: that I might cut off all the workers of iniquity from the city of the Lord.

5 Being justified therefore by faith, let us have peace with God, through our Lord Jesus Christ:

² By whom also we have access through faith into this grace, wherein we stand, and glory in the hope of the glory of the sons of God.

³ And not only so; but we glory also in tribulations, knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

⁴ And patience trial; and trial hope;

⁵ And hope confoundeth not: because the charity of God is poured forth in our hearts, by the Holy Ghost, who is given to us.

⁶ For why did Christ, when as yet we were weak, according to the time, die for the ungodly?

⁷ For scarce for a just man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man some one would dare to die.

⁸ But God commendeth his charity towards us; because when as yet we were sinners, according to the time,

³⁵ And Jesus went about all the cities, and towns, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every disease, and every infirmity.

³⁶ And seeing the multitudes, he had compassion on them: because they were distressed, and lying like sheep that have no shepherd.

³⁷ Then he saith to his disciples, The harvest indeed is great, but the labourers are few.

³⁸ Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he send forth labourers into his harvest.

10 And having called his twelve disciples together, he gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of diseases, and all manner of infirmities.

² And the names of the twelve apostles are these: The first, Simon who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother,

³ James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, Philip and Bartholomew, Thomas and Matthew the publican, and James the son of Alpheus, and Thaddeus,

⁴ Simon the Cananean, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.

⁵ These twelve Jesus sent: commanding them, saying: Go ye not into the way of the Gentiles, and into the city of the Samaritans enter ye not.

⁶ But go ye rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

⁷ And going, preach, saying: The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

⁸ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out devils: freely have you received, freely give.

⁹ Do not possess gold, nor silver, nor money in your purses:

¹⁰ Nor scrip for your journey, nor two coats, nor shoes, nor a staff; for the workman is worthy of his meat.

¹¹ And into whatsoever city or town you shall enter, inquire who in it is worthy, and there abide till you go thence.

¹² And when you come into the house, salute it, saying: Peace be to this house.

¹³ And if that house be worthy, your peace shall come upon it; but if it be not worthy, your peace shall return to you.

¹⁴ And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words: going forth out of that house or city shake off the dust from your feet.

¹⁵ Amen I say to you, it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

¹⁶ Behold I send you as sheep in the midst of wolves. Be ye therefore wise as serpents and simple as doves.

¹⁷ But beware of men. For they will deliver you up in councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues.

¹⁸ And you shall be brought before governors, and before kings for my sake, for a testimony to them and to the Gentiles:

¹⁹ But when they shall deliver you up, take no thought how or what to speak: for it shall be given you in that hour what to speak.

²⁰ For it is not you that speak, but the Spirit of your Father that speaketh in you.

²¹ The brother also shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the son: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and shall put them to death.

²² And you shall be hated by all men for my name's sake: but he that shall persevere unto the end, he shall be saved.

²³ And when they shall persecute you in this city, flee into another. Amen I say to you, you shall not finish all the cities of Israel, till the Son of man come.
