Waiting for the Redemption of the Lord

A Song of Ascents.

130 Out (A)of the depths I have cried to You, O Lord;
Lord, hear my voice!
Let Your ears be attentive
To the voice of my supplications.

(B)If You, Lord, should [a]mark iniquities,
O Lord, who could (C)stand?
But there is (D)forgiveness with You,
That (E)You may be feared.

(F)I wait for the Lord, my soul waits,
And (G)in His word I do hope.
(H)My soul waits for the Lord
More than those who watch for the morning—
Yes, more than those who watch for the morning.

(I)O Israel, hope in the Lord;
For (J)with the Lord there is mercy,
And with Him is abundant redemption.
And (K)He shall redeem Israel
From all his iniquities.

Ezekiel 36:8-15

But you, O mountains of Israel, you shall shoot forth your branches and yield your fruit to My people Israel, for they are about to come. For indeed I am for you, and I will turn to you, and you shall be tilled and sown. 10 I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, all of it; and the cities shall be inhabited and (A)the ruins rebuilt. 11 (B)I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and [a]bear young; I will make you inhabited as in former times, and do (C)better for you than at your beginnings. (D)Then you shall know that I am the Lord. 12 Yes, I will cause men to walk on you, My people Israel; (E)they shall take possession of you, and you shall be their inheritance; no more shall you (F)bereave them of children.

13 ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Because they say to you, (G)‘You devour men and bereave your nation of children, 14 therefore you shall devour men no more, nor bereave your nation anymore,” says the Lord God. 15 (H)“Nor will I let you hear the taunts of the nations anymore, nor bear the reproach of the peoples anymore, nor shall you cause your nation to stumble anymore,” says the Lord God.’ ”

Luke 24:44-53

The Scriptures Opened

44 Then He said to them, (A)“These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.” 45 And (B)He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures.

46 Then He said to them, (C)“Thus it is written, [a]and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, 47 and that repentance and (D)remission of sins should be preached in His name (E)to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 And (F)you are witnesses of these things. 49 (G)Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city [b]of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.”

The Ascension(H)

50 And He led them out (I)as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them. 51 (J)Now it came to pass, while He blessed them, that He was parted from them and carried up into heaven. 52 (K)And they worshiped Him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy, 53 and were continually (L)in the temple [c]praising and blessing God. [d]Amen.
