¹² And Jehovah said to Moses, Come up to me into the mountain, and be there; and I will give thee the tables of stone, and the law, and the commandment that I have written, for their instruction.

¹³ And Moses rose up, and Joshua his attendant; and Moses went up to the mountain of God.

¹⁴ And he said to the elders, Wait here for us, until we return to you; and behold, Aaron and Hur are with you: if any man have any matter, let him come before them.

¹⁵ And Moses went up to the mountain, and the cloud covered the mountain.

¹⁶ And the glory of Jehovah abode on mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days; and on the seventh day he called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud.

¹⁷ And the appearance of the glory of Jehovah was like a consuming fire on the top of the mountain, before the eyes of the children of Israel.

¹⁸ And Moses went into the midst of the cloud, and ascended the mountain. And Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights.

2 Why are the nations in tumultuous agitation, and [why] do the peoples meditate a vain thing?

² The kings of the earth set themselves, and the princes plot together, against Jehovah and against his anointed:

³ Let us break their bonds asunder, and cast away their cords from us!

⁴ He that dwelleth in the heavens shall laugh, the Lord shall have them in derision.

⁵ Then will he speak to them in his anger, and in his fierce displeasure will he terrify them:

⁶ And *I* have anointed my king upon Zion, the hill of my holiness.

⁷ I will declare the decree: Jehovah hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; *I* this day have begotten thee.

⁸ Ask of me, and I will give thee nations for an inheritance, and for thy possession the ends of the earth:

⁹ Thou shalt break them with a sceptre of iron, as a potter's vessel thou shalt dash them in pieces.

¹⁰ And now, O kings, be ye wise, be admonished, ye judges of the earth.

¹¹ Serve Jehovah with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

¹² Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish in the way, though his anger burn but a little. Blessed are all who have their trust in him.

99 Jehovah reigneth: let the peoples tremble. He sitteth [between the] cherubim: let the earth be moved.

² Jehovah is great in Zion, and he is high above all the peoples.

³ They shall praise thy great and terrible name,—it is holy!—

⁴ And the strength of the king that loveth justice. *Thou* hast established equity: it is thou that executest judgment and righteousness in Jacob.

⁵ Exalt Jehovah our God, and worship at his footstool. He is holy!

⁶ Moses and Aaron among his priests, and Samuel among them that call upon his name: they called unto Jehovah, and *he* answered them.

⁷ He spoke unto them in the pillar of cloud: they kept his testimonies, and the statute that he gave them.

⁸ Jehovah, our God, *thou* answeredst them: a forgiving God wast thou unto them, though thou tookest vengeance of their doings.

⁹ Exalt Jehovah our God, and worship at the hill of his holiness; for holy is Jehovah our God.

¹⁶ For we have not made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, following cleverly imagined fables, but having been eyewitnesses of *his* majesty.

¹⁷ For he received from God [the] Father honour and glory, such a voice being uttered to him by the excellent glory: This is my beloved Son, in whom *I* have found my delight;

¹⁸ and this voice *we* heard uttered from heaven, being with him on the holy mountain.

¹⁹ And we have the prophetic word [made] surer, to which ye do well taking heed (as to a lamp shining in an obscure place) until [the] day dawn and [the] morning star arise in your hearts;

²⁰ knowing this first, that [the scope of] no prophecy of scripture is had from its own particular interpretation,

²¹ for prophecy was not ever uttered by [the] will of man, but holy men of God spake under the power of [the] Holy Spirit.

17 And after six days Jesus takes with [him] Peter, and James, and John his brother, and brings them up into a high mountain apart.

² And he was transfigured before them. And his face shone as the sun, and his garments became white as the light;

³ and lo, Moses and Elias appeared to them talking with him.

⁴ And Peter answering said to Jesus, Lord, it is good we should be here. If thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles: for thee one, and for Moses one, and one for Elias.

⁵ While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and lo, a voice out of the cloud, saying, *This* is my beloved Son, in whom I have found my delight: hear him.

⁶ And the disciples hearing [it] fell upon their faces, and were greatly terrified.

⁷ And Jesus coming to [them] touched them, and said, Rise up, and be not terrified.

⁸ And lifting up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus alone.

⁹ And as they descended from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no one, until the Son of man be risen up from among [the] dead.
