Version
Isaiah 58:1-9

58 “Cry aloud! Do not hold back! Lift up your voice like a trumpet and show My people their transgression, and to the House of Jacob their sins.

“Still, they seek Me daily, and would know My ways, even as a nation that did righteously, and had not forsaken the Statutes of their God. They ask of Me the Ordinances of Justice. They will draw near to God, saying,

“‘Why do we fast and You do not see it? We punish ourselves and You do not regard it?’ Behold, on the day of your fast you will seek your will and require all your debts.

“Behold, you fast for strife and debate and to strike with the fist of wickedness. You shall not fast as you do today, to make your voice to be heard above.

“Is it such a fast that I have chosen, that a man should afflict his soul for a day, and to bow down his head, as a bull rush, and to lie down in sackcloth and ashes? Would you call this a fast, or an acceptable day to the LORD?

“Is not this the fast that I have chosen: to loosen the bands of wickedness, to take off the heavy burdens and to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke?

“Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and that you bring the poor, who wander, into your house? When you see the naked, that you cover him and do not hide yourself from your own flesh?

“Then shall your light break forth as the morning and your health shall grow speedily. Your righteousness shall go before you. The Glory of the LORD shall embrace you.

“Then shall you call, and the LORD shall answer. You shall cry, and He shall say, ‘Here I am.’ If you take away the yoke from the midst of you, the putting forth of the finger and wicked speaking,

Isaiah 58:9-12

“Then shall you call, and the LORD shall answer. You shall cry, and He shall say, ‘Here I am.’ If you take away the yoke from the midst of you, the putting forth of the finger and wicked speaking,

10 “if you pour out your soul to the hungry and refresh the troubled soul, then shall your light spring out in the darkness. And your darkness shall be as the noon day.

11 “And the LORD shall guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and make your bones fat. And you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.

12 “And those who shall build the old waste places shall be from you. You shall raise up the foundations for many generations. And you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, the Restorer of the Paths to dwell in.

Psalm 112:1-9

112 Blessed is the man who fears the LORD and delights greatly in His Commandments.

His seed shall be mighty upon Earth. The generation of the righteous shall be blessed.

Riches and treasures shall be in his house and his righteousness endures forever.

To the righteous arises light in darkness. He is merciful and full of compassion, and righteous.

A good man is merciful and lends. He will measure his affairs by judgment.

Surely, he shall never be moved. The righteous shall be held in everlasting remembrance.

He will not be afraid of evil tidings. His heart is fixed, believing in the LORD.

His heart is established. He will not fear, until he sees his desire upon his enemies.

He has distributed, given to the poor. His righteousness remains forever. His horn shall be exalted with glory.

Psalm 112:10

10 The wicked shall see it and be angry. He shall gnash with his teeth and melt away. The desire of the wicked shall perish. Praise the LORD

1 Corinthians 2:1-12

And I, brothers, when I came to you, came not with excellency of words, or of wisdom, showing to you the testimony of God.

For I determined not to know anything among you, except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.

And I was among you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.

Neither my word nor my preaching was in the enticing speech of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power.

So that your faith would not be in the wisdom of man, but in the power of God.

Rather, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, which come to nothing,

But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, having been hidden, which God predetermined to our glory before the world,

and which none of the princes of this world have known. For had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of Glory.

But as it is written, ‘The things which neither eye has seen, nor ear has heard, nor have come into man’s heart, are those which God has prepared for those who love Him.’

10 But God has revealed them to us by His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yea, the deep things of God.

11 For what man knows the things of a man, except the spirit of a man, which is in him? So also, no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.

12 Now we have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit, Who is from God, that we might know the things that are given to us from God,

1 Corinthians 2:13-16

13 of which things we also speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teaches, but those which the Holy Ghost teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual things.

14 But the natural man does not perceive the things of the Spirit of God. For they are foolishness to him, nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

15 But he who is spiritual, discerns all things. Yet, he himself is judged by no one.

16 For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he might instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ.

Matthew 5:13-20

13 “You are the salt of the Earth. But if the salt has lost his savor, how shall it be salted? It is thereafter good for nothing but to be cast out, and to be trampled underfoot by man.

14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.

15 “Nor does anyone light a candle and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick. And it gives light to all who are in the house.

16 “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father Who is in Heaven.

17 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law, or the Prophets. I have not come to destroy them, but to fulfill them.

18 “For truly I say to you, until Heaven and Earth perish, not one jot or one tittle of the Law shall escape, till all things are fulfilled.

19 “Therefore, whoever shall break one of these least Commandments, and teach man so, he shall be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But whoever shall observe and teach them, the same shall be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.

20 “For I say to you, unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall not enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.
