Psalm 29

29 Give to the LORD, you sons of the Mighty. Give to the LORD glory and strength.

Give to the LORD glory due His Name. Worship the LORD in the glorious Sanctuary.

The voice of the LORD is upon the waters. The God of Glory makes it thunder. The LORD is upon the great waters.

The voice of the LORD is mighty. The voice of the LORD is glorious.

The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars. Indeed, the LORD breaks the cedars of Lebanon.

He also makes them leap like a calf, Lebanon and Shirion like a young unicorn.

The voice of the LORD divides the flames of fire.

The voice of the LORD makes the wilderness tremble. The LORD makes the wilderness of Kadesh tremble.

The voice of the LORD makes the hinds calve and discovers the forests. In His Temple, every man speaks of His Glory.

10 The LORD sits upon the floods; and the LORD remains King forever.

11 The LORD shall give strength to His people. The LORD shall bless His people with peace. A Psalm or song of the dedication of the House of David.

1 Samuel 7:3-17

Then Samuel spoke to all the House of Israel, saying, “If you have come back to the LORD with all your heart, put away the strange gods from among you, and Ashtoreth, and direct your hearts to the LORD and serve Him only; and He shall deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.”

Then, the children of Israel did put away Baal and Ashtoreth and served the LORD only.

And Samuel said, “Gather all Israel to Mizpah, and I will pray for you to the LORD.”

And they gathered together to Mizpah and drew water and poured it out before the LORD and fasted the same day, and said there, “We have sinned against the LORD!” And Samuel judged the children of Israel in Mizpah.

When the Philistines heard that the children of Israel had gathered together in Mizpah, the princes of the Philistines went up against Israel. And when the children of Israel heard that, they were afraid of the Philistines.

And the children of Israel said to Samuel, “Do not cease crying to the LORD our God for us, so that He may save us out of the hand of the Philistines!”

Then Samuel took a suckling lamb and offered it all together for a Burnt Offering to the LORD. And Samuel cried to the LORD for Israel; and the LORD heard him.

10 And as Samuel offered the Burnt Offering, the Philistines came to fight against Israel. But the LORD thundered with a great thunder upon the Philistines that day and scattered them. So they were killed before Israel.

11 And the men of Israel went from Mizpah and pursued the Philistines and struck them until they came under Beth Car.

12 Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen and called its name, Ebenezer. And he said, “Thus far the LORD has helped us.”

13 So the Philistines were subdued. And they no longer came back into the territory of Israel. And the Hand of the LORD was against the Philistines all of Samuel’s life.

14 Also, the cities which the Philistines had taken from Israel were restored to Israel, from Ekron all the way to Gath. And Israel delivered the territories of the same out of the hands of the Philistines. And there was peace between Israel and the Amorites.

15 And Samuel judged Israel all the days of his life,

16 and went about year after year to Bethel and Gilgal and Mizpah and judged Israel in all those places.

17 Afterward, he returned to Ramah, for his house was there. And there he judged Israel. Also, he built an Altar there to the LORD.

Acts 9:19-31

19 and received food and was strengthened. So, Saul was with the Damascus disciples for some days.

20 And immediately he preached Christ in the synagogues, that He was the Son of God.

21 So that all who heard him were amazed, and said, “Is not this he who harassed those who called on this Name in Jerusalem, and came here for that purpose, so that he could bring them bound to the chief priests?”

22 But Saul increased all the more in strength, and confounded the Jews who dwelt at Damascus, confirming that this was the Christ.

23 And after that many days had passed, the Jews conspired to kill him.

24 But their plot was known by Saul. Now, they watched the gates day and night, so that they might kill him.

25 Then the disciples took him at night. And, by rope, they let him down through the wall in a basket.

26 And when Saul had come to Jerusalem, he attempted to join the disciples. But they were all afraid of him, and did not believe that he was a disciple.

27 But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the Apostles, and told them how he had seen the Lord on the road. And that he had spoken to Him. And how he had spoken boldly at Damascus in the Name of Jesus.

28 And he was with them, coming in and going out, at Jerusalem.

29 And he spoke boldly in the Name of the Lord Jesus and spoke and disputed against the Hellenists. But they sought to kill him.

30 But when the brothers knew it, they brought him to Caesarea, and sent him forth to Tarsus.

31 Then the Churches had rest through all Judea, and Galilee, and Samaria, and were edified, and walked in the fear of the Lord, and were multiplied by the comfort of the Holy Ghost.
